Dear Abe Lincoln Families,
Welcome back to school to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time! I hope this letter finds you well and filled with anticipation for the upcoming school year.
At Abraham Lincoln Elementary, our top priorities are to increase student academic achievement in both language arts and mathematics, improve attendance, and foster a sense of belonging among our students and families. We believe that when our school community feels valued and supported, everyone thrives.
As we look ahead, please mark a couple events on your calendars:
Meet & Greet: Join us on August 22nd from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for a Meet & Greet session. This is an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, explore the school, and connect with other families. We look forward to seeing you there! This event is for 1st through 5th graders and families.
Back to School Night: Save the date for September 26th from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm for our Back to School Night event. During this time, you will have the chance to learn about classroom expectations, communication channels, and how you can be actively involved in your child's education.
These events are just the beginning of what promises to be a rewarding and successful school year. We are committed to working closely with you to ensure that every child at Abe Lincoln Elementary receives the support and resources they need to excel academically and personally.

Back to School Details
Techer Assignments - Please look for an email from your student's teacher on Thursday 8/22 around noon, welcoming them to the class.
Meals are available to students at no charge to families again this year. Breakfast is served before school 7:25-7:50.
Arrival - Students may arrive as early as 7:20. They will come into the school through the front doors, and then choose to go to the cafeteria, gym or library before school starts at 7:50. Please remember to pull forward and say quick good-byes if you use the drive-thru loop. Caregivers are welcome to park in the southern parking lot if they need a bit more time at drop off.
Dismissal - The first week of school is a little slow at dismissal time, so please have patience. Pull all the way forward in the drive loop and only use the passenger side doors to load students, for safety. If you would like to park in the southern lot and walk up to the school, please stand by the bike racks or the flag pole. See the image below for parking procedures.

Parking Lot Safety
We strive to maintain a safe environment for dropping off students in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon at ALE. Please remember these basic expectations to help ensure another accident-free school year:
1)Students unloading directly from a car should only happen in the U-shaped "Drop-Off Zone" near the South Parking Lot.
2)The North Lot will be closed to all traffic daily from 7:45 am - 8:15 am
3)If you park in either lot, and you are waiting to pick up your student(s) after school, please stand behind the coned-off area to help campus supervisors maintain clear sightlines.

Would you like to Substitute?
ALE regularly needs substitutes for classified & licensed positions, and we love to have parents as regular subs. You can choose your hours and the school(s) where you want to work. Check out ESS online.
