Important Updates About School Pairings
We understand you may have questions about the transition, and we’re here to support you every step of the way! Below are key details to help clarify what this means for your family:
🔹 For Families in the Newly Defined Copper Mesa Boundary:
If your child currently attends Heritage and your home falls within the newly defined boundary for Copper Mesa, your student will stay enrolled at Heritage for the 2025-2026 school year. Your enrollment will transition seamlessly to the newly merged school in the Summit View building for the 2026-2027 school year unless you choose to enroll at Copper Mesa.
🔹 For Open Enrolled Students:
All current open enrolled students (no matter your home location) for the 2025-2026 school year will remain enrolled at Heritage and transition seamlessly into the newly merged school in the Summit View building for 2026-2027, regardless of any new boundary changes.
🔹 For Incoming Kindergarten Families:
Our thriving and dynamic Kindergarten program with our current teachers will continue at Heritage next year (2025-2026), and students will smoothly transition to first grade the following year.
🔹 For Current 4th Graders:
As 5th graders next year, you’ll still get to experience all the exciting milestones typically reserved for 6th grade, including Outdoor Ed and graduation, ½ Prom and other celebrations! We will be creating these experiences exclusive for our fifth grade students to make it super special!
🔹 For Current 3rd Graders:
As next year’s 4th graders, students from both communities will have opportunities to connect, collaborate, and help shape an exciting school year. Through these shared experiences, they’ll build strong relationships and develop leadership skills to step into their role as the first 5th-grade leaders in the newly merged school.
🔹 For Current K-2nd Graders:
Next year will be an exciting and memorable year! We remain committed to providing exceptional academic experiences for all students. Best of all, our dedicated staff will continue supporting students as they transition to the newly merged school in the 2026-2027 school year.
🔹 Preparing for the Transition:
The 2025-2026 school year will focus on uniting our students, families, and staff while exploring additional programming opportunities for both communities, creating the BEST of the BEST opportunities and learning experience for all students.
