Maple Lane Garden Update
We are excited to share that our school garden is getting ready for a new growing season! Thanks to our partnership with Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids, planting maps and seeds have been prepared, and additional soil has been delivered to help refresh our garden beds. Our team is also working to address the standing water near the garden, so the space is ready for students to learn and grow.
We look forward to planting this fall and providing hands-on experiences that connect students with healthy foods, nature, and science. Stay tuned for more garden updates as our young gardeners get ready to dig in! 🌻🥕🍅
💙 Bullying Prevention Month 💙
Throughout October, Ms. Johnson, our school counselor, will visit every classroom to teach age-appropriate bullying-prevention lessons using the Second Step Bullying Prevention Unit.
Students will participate in interactive discussions, stories, scenario activities, and role-playing exercises that teach them how to:
Recognize the difference between bullying, conflict, and teasing
Respond assertively and safely
Report concerns to a trusted adult
Use the power of bystanders to help others
Demonstrate kindness, inclusion, and respect
Our Bridges homerooms will receive adapted lessons focused on making and keeping friends, respecting personal space, identifying friendly and unfriendly behaviors, and asking adults for help.
Families can support these lessons by asking, “What did you learn about bullying today?” and reminding children that reporting unsafe or hurtful behavior is always the right thing to do.
Our Commitment to Kindness and Respect:
✅ We will treat others the way we want to be treated.
✅ We will celebrate and appreciate our differences.
✅ We will use kind words and actions.
✅ We will help others feel safe, welcome, and included.
✅ We will work together to create a positive school community where everyone belongs.

Student Annual Panorama Survey
As we enter our fourth year of participating in the Panorama Survey, we continue to address building social-emotional learning skills as an important goal for our school district. We will ask 4th - 5th-grade students to reflect on their mindsets and approaches to learning via an online survey they will be completing at school. The survey is an in-school survey for students that takes about 20 min.
The survey topics include:
Pedagogical Effectiveness, School Rigorous Expectations, School Teacher-Student Relationships, School Belonging, and Valuing of School.
The survey will launch and be available for student access from October 12th -October 16th.
We are asking all of our students to participate in the survey. Their responses will provide insight into their experiences and how we can improve as a district. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses confidential. We thank you in advance for your participation.
The survey questions are available for you to preview on our website, https://www.brandywineschools.org/panorama. Please reach out to building administration with further questions.
