This year the JOM program was able to provide our early childhood teachers with the picture book, 1st American: Cherokee. This is an excellent resource the PK and K teachers will be able to utilize in their classrooms and supports the work of our ES Push-In Program.

OSIYO!

Cherokee Club is in the last couple weeks of practice before the Cherokee Language bowl. Language bowl takes place the week of February 26 and divisions will go to Greasy immersion school on their respective days. This is one of our most difficult competitions all year. Students have been diligently working in and outside of club to prepare for competition! We are looking forward to competition day to see how each division does.

Congratulations Aubree!🎉🥳

Aubree Chesney submitted a nonfiction work to the Cherokee Nation Writing competition in January. She has officially placed 1st in her division and we are so proud of her!

Her writing was a biography about Wilma Mankiller that included everything from motherhood to statehood. Aubree did an amazing job and we are so proud that she stepped out of her comfort zone to submit such a fantastic piece!
