That's (almost) a wrap on 2023!
Graduation has come and gone but we're still celebrating the Class of 2023! Freshman Jasper Winterton captured some incredible photos from the ceremony! Check them out on Facebook.
- The WGHS of 2023 collectively earned over $32.3 million in scholarships
- 37 students earned the Bright Flight Award by scoring 31 or higher on the ACT
- 52 seniors are eligible for A+ Schools
- 78 students are designated as Summa Cum Laude
This doesn't happen without trusted adults like you! Thank you for being the guiding lights in our students' lives, helping them discover their passions and strengths. We are deeply grateful for the positive impact you have made in our community!
Let's finish out the year strong and stay tuned for photos and videos from the last day of school Friday!
Teacher recreates photo with grads
Carrie Sachtleben, kindergarten teacher at Edgar Road Elementary, recreated a photo with three of her students during their visit back to the school.
Seniors Vivian Burke, Bailey Allen, and Emma Stork. This must have been a very special moment for all four! Like on Facebook.
Lunch superheroes
Yesterday, when issues prevented staff at Clark Elementary to prepare and serve lunch, Brittany Richars, foods service director and others stepped up!
Tricia Yates and Brittany made the meals. Also a thank you to our driver, Dan Aubuchon who helped gather product from other schools to make it possible.
Danielle Petersen (pictured left) and Nelda Gerhauser (pictured right), food service workers at Givens Elementary, were able to use their school's kitchen to prepare lunch for Clark students since it had the most space. Lunch was then delivered to all of Clark students with minimal delay and they ate outside or in their classrooms.
Thank you to all the superheroes who went above and beyond to keep things running smoothly!

Please join us in welcoming them!
Clark Elementary earns heart safe school status
Clark Elementary has been named a Project Adam Heart Safe School! We are proud to be part of this nationwide initiative focused on supporting cardiac arrest preparedness in schools.
Thanks to the hard work of Dr. Mokshagundam with St. Louis Children's Hospital and our team, we have successfully implemented a quality sudden cardiac arrest program of awareness, training, and response to promote a safe environment for students, visitors, and staff.
We need your help!
We are currently in the process of hiring additional staff to support the growing needs of our families for before and after school care. In order to attract and retain qualified individuals, we have raised our pay rate from $15/hr to $15.75/hr beginning July 1. Additionally, we are now offering a $100 retention bonus and $100 referral bonuses for current district employees.
As a current WGSD employee, if you refer an individual to work in Adventure Club, you will receive a $100 referral bonus once that individual reaches six months employment.
These added incentives have been recently approved so we are working on communicating these benefits to all. If someone you know may be interested, please have them call 314-963-6440 or apply online.
For the W
While Prop S supports many of our efforts to completely renovate Moss Field, in order to build an athletic complex on par with other local districts, we need additional support. For the W is a privately-led campaign to enhance the WGSD Athletic Complex. With your help, we can bring home a W for our students and community, giving the new complex the wow factor needed to build upon our strong traditions and re-instill pride in our facilities.
These upgrades may include a video scoreboard, viewing pavilions and more. Multiple opportunities are available to get involved.
