Learning Together Every Day
Welcome Back to School 2026-27
Dear Families,
Welcome to a new school year! On behalf of our entire district, I am thrilled to welcome you and your students back. I hope your summer was filled with opportunities to relax, spend time with loved ones, and create wonderful memories. As we begin another year together, we are excited to partner with you in helping every student learn, grow, and succeed.
Our schools are more than places of learning, they are communities where students are encouraged to discover their strengths, take on challenges, and build the skills they need for the future. We are honored to serve your children and are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and inspired.
As your superintendent, my leadership is guided by three core beliefs:
Every child can learn and grow. Every student has unique strengths and unlimited potential. Our responsibility is to meet students where they are, provide the support they need, and help them achieve meaningful growth.
I lead with love, encouragement, and high expectations. We believe students thrive when they know they are cared for, challenged, and supported. Building strong relationships while maintaining high expectations creates the foundation for success.
Hard work and perseverance matter. Learning takes effort, resilience, and determination. We want our students to understand that mistakes are opportunities to learn and that persistence leads to achievement.
These beliefs guide the goals we have established for this school year:
1. Increase Student Achievement in Mathematics
We are committed to strengthening mathematics instruction across the district by providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences, using student data to guide instruction, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to build confidence and success in math.
2. Strengthen High-Quality, Student-Centered Learning
Our teachers and staff will continue to focus on instructional excellence by creating engaging classrooms where students actively participate in learning, think critically, solve problems, and develop the skills they need for future success.
3. Foster a Positive, Safe, and Supportive School Culture
We will continue building schools where every student feels welcomed, respected, and supported. Through strong relationships, trauma-informed practices, professionalism, and collaboration with families, we will create learning environments where students can thrive both academically and socially.
We know that student success is strongest when schools and families work together. Your partnership, encouragement, and involvement make an incredible difference, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us each day.
Thank you for being an important part of our school community. We look forward to celebrating your child's successes, supporting them through challenges, and making this a year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences.

Athletic Director's Note
Important Sports Info.
Summer break is nearly over and it is time to get into gear for fall sports! Here are a few things to take note of for all student athletes and their families:
Free Sports Physicals at Alsea School: Samaritan Health is offering free sports physicals for all of our athletes in the Alsea community on August 14th from 5 to 7pm. If you would like to fill out the form ahead of time, please print out this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KcHytID72ao7wutPoUWh4LtHTF85mAn3/view?usp=sharing.
If not, forms will be available in person when you arrive for the physical to be filled out.
In order to participate in any athletics, all athletes must have a valid physical before practicing. Physicals are valid for two years, so if it has been two years since your student’s last one, please schedule to get an updated one sooner rather than later! Safety is our number one priority. Typically, students entering 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grade and ALL students new to Alsea Athletics must get a sports physical. It is also required by the state, and we really would love to see every athlete get to go to that first practice this fall.
Communication Overhaul: We have now gone to sportsYou for all athletics-based updates. It is a self-contained app that we have already seen increase the communication between coaches, parents and players. Find the orange sportsYou app on your device’s app store, or access it online at: https://sportsyou.com. Once there, you may join the corresponding groups that your athlete is involved in with the following codes:
High School Football:
9KTE-R4XU
High School Volleyball:
JHVV-PY4D
Middle School Football:
KQQW-BWVS
Middle School Volleyball:

Registration: Please register your student athlete for all sports they will participate in. To register, please go to https://www.alsea.k12.or.us/page/athletics and click “Register My Athlete”. Follow the prompts on FinalForms until you’re all registered. Important: Currently, Middle School Volleyball is not accepting incoming 5th graders. 6th through 8th grade only, subject to change if numbers are low. Will update you if there are any changes. For Middle School Football, incoming 5th graders are allowed to participate in practice and be on the team, but are not allowed to play in the games unless it is deemed safe for each individual by both the coach and athletic director.
