The Wednesday MESSAGE!
Edition #3 September 2, 2026
Labor Day Holiday, No School September 4th or September 7th
There is no school on either of these days, please enjoy a safe Labor Day Weekend!
Construction Update
As we begin the school year, the construction continues with a scheduled January end date. I am sure your children have told you about the differences between last year and this year around the building, there many!
Moving into the next phase of construction, our contractors will be working on stage lighting in the gym, a new physical therapy and small group instruction room, as well as, an instrumental music room. Flooring will continue to be laid down after the students leave, and programmers will continue to fine tune the HVAC system and lighting controls.
Salford Hills Award Winning Art
Evelyn Schultz and Ben Vaughan had artwork selected to be included in Many Communities, One Commonwealth, a student-created America 250 piece of artwork composed of contributions from more than 180 K-12 students across Pennsylvania. Mrs. Leinbach and the Schultz and Vaughan families went to the unveiling in July in the Harrisburg Capitol Rotunda and Governor Shapiro came and met with us. Congratulations Ben and Evelyn! Happy Birthday America!

We are Looking for Homeroom Parent Coordinators for Each Class!
If you are interested in becoming a Homeroom Parent Coordinator for your child’s classroom, please fill out the Google Form below by Friday, September 11th. One HR Parent Coordinator will be randomly selected per class. Parents can only be selected as a HR Parent Coordinator for one classroom per school year. The HSA Board will contact you by Sept. 14th if you have been selected. If you have any questions or would like further information, please email the HSA Board at board@salfordhillshsa.org.
The primary responsibility of Homeroom Parent Coordinators is to work closely with the teacher in organizing the 3 class Socials for the 2026/27 school year. All socials run from 2-3 PM. Prior to each Social, you will create an email to be sent home to all the parents in your class. This is usually sent from the teacher directly to the parents of each child in their class with your name as contact.
Homeroom Parent Coordinators are responsible for organizing and supervising the 3 classroom socials throughout the school year:
Fall Social on Friday Oct. 30th at 2pm
Winter Social on Wednesday, December 23rd at 2pm
Valentine's Day Social on Thursday, February 11th at 2pm
The HR Parent Coordinator will be responsible for submitting the following to the teacher a minimum of one (1) week prior to each Social for approval: (1) the names of the 4 Social Volunteers attending the social and (2) the plans for the social including the craft to be made, games to be played, and food/drinks to be served.
A maximum of 4 total volunteers (including the HR Parent Coordinator) may attend each social. A form will go home soon in your child’s communicator where parents may send in a $5 donation and indicate their interest in being a Social Volunteer. The Socials are to be divided as equally as possible amongst the parents. However, if an amicable decision cannot be reached regarding which parent(s) will attend each Social, disputes can be taken to the HSA Board. Classroom teachers are NOT to be involved in this matter.
No siblings are permitted to attend the socials. Thank you for understanding! As always, we appreciate your willingness to help at Salford Hills!
You will receive additional guidelines if you are selected.
Thank You,
Salford Hills Home & School Association
Car Rider Pick-up Information

There are so many ways to serve at Salford Hills, both big and small. We would love to see you at our monthly meetings or you can reach out if you are interested in learning more at board@salfordhillshsa.org. Whether you are the parent of a Kindergartener or a 5th grader, it's never too late to get involved!
First Home & School Meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 6pm in the SH Cafeteria!
