Important Safety and Visitor Reminders
All visitors MUST come in the front door and go through our security screening protocol. In order to enter the building, please remember that you must have an ID. Visitors will not be admitted through side entrances or without completing the security screening.
If your student's mode of transportation is changing, please communicate this information with his or her teacher and/or the front office. Please do so in a timely manner so that we can notify your child of the changes if necessary. This is to ensure all students are accounted for during the dismissal process.

Morning Car Rider Line
- Drop off does not begin until 7:30. Please do not allow students to get out of the vehicle until Coach Brown and Coach Cagle start the morning arrival procedure.
- Students need to be ready to exit the vehicle when you pull up to Coach Brown and Coach Cagle
- When you enter the car rider line, pull in to the lane you need to be in when it is time for you to pull on to Sparkman Drive (changing lanes after drop off delays the car rider line process).
- Do NOT drop off children in the parking lot and allow them to run or walk across the parking lot to the crosswalk!
Afternoon Car Rider Line
- Please pay attention to the line and make sure you keep moving when it is time to move.
- If you have a child who needs help being buckled in, please pull all the way up to the cones and buckle them in there.
- Please do not exit your vehicle during car rider line.
- Car rider line ends at 3:40. Please make every effort to be in the line for pick up on time.

A Note from Nurse Darby
There are lots of illnesses going around both the elementary and middle schools at this time. While teachers and custodians are doing their best to disinfect rooms and common spaces, we also need your help!
If your student is diagnosed with flu, RSV, or covid, please email Nurse Darby and let her know. She is working to keep up with what is going around, and this communication is a huge help for her in keeping tabs on what she needs to report. You can also copy Mrs. Calhoun on the email and use the notification as a parent excuse for your absence. If you have any questions, please reach out to Nurse Darby.

Attendance was down across all grade levels this week. While it is cold and flu season and we understand staying home to rest and keep others healthy, please be at school when you are well and able. Every single day counts!
Attendance Updates
Our school wide goal for attendance is 98% present each and every school day. Every day counts! Please plan appointments early enough that your student can be checked in by 11:30 or later in the day so that they can be in school until at least 11:30 in order to avoid being counted absent.
Was your student absent? Do they need an excuse?
Form attendance excuses were sent home last week for you to use if your child is absent and needs a parent excuse. A blank copy is attached below. You do not have to use this excuse, but we hopes it makes providing excuses a little easier! Blank copies are also kept at the front office and you can fill them out when you come to drop your child off late or pick your child up early.
Deadline Extended for the AAA Cookbook!!
We're so excited to put together a AAA Family Cookbook! Please submit your recipes by March 3rd.
