Halloween Parade Guidelines
Good Day Wallace School Family -
Our annual Halloween Parade is scheduled for Friday, October 30th, as close to 1:30 PM as possible. Please read the important information below regarding our parade logistics.
For this event to be safe and successful, you as the parent and guardian community must do your part when it comes to the guidelines and procedures outlined here:
- The parade will start as close to 1:30 PM as possible.
- The parade will be lead by our 5th Grade Students, followed by grades 4, 3, 2, 1, and Kindergarten.
- The parade will proceed out of the basketball court gate by door 10, and make a left up towards Willow Ave.
- The parade will make a left on Willow Ave and walk towards 12th St. We will walk cross 12th St. and walk towards 13th St.
- The parade will make a left at the corner of 13th and Willow, walking towards Clinton St..
- The parade will make a left onto Clinton St. and walk towards 12th St. We will cross 12th St. walk back towards 11th St.
- The parade will make a left onto 11th St., and then make a left back by door 10 and into the building for students to proceed back upstairs to their classrooms for the rest of the instructional day.
Parents should line the sidewalk closest to the street, backs to the street, facing the buildings, and keep the walkway on the sidewalks clear. There will be plenty of room along the parade route for all to participate.
PARENTS AND GUARDIANS SHOULD NOT CROWD AT THE START OR END OF THE PARADE BY DOOR 10 ON 11TH STREET AT ANY TIME DURING THE PARADE.
PARENTS AND GUARDIANS MUST KEEP THE SIDEWALKS CLEAR AT ALL TIMES.
If the weather is bad on October 30th, we will unfortunately have to cancel the parade. Mr. Bartlett will inform the community by way of an email if that has to happen.
Halloween Costume Guidelines
The following are some guidelines regarding student costumes:
All costumes must be age appropriate for an elementary school. Make sure costumes are respectful and in good taste. Be kind. Keep it fun. Please be mindful of your actions.
Please ensure students wear appropriate footwear - sneakers are always the best option. If a costume comes with shoes - don't wear them - wear sneakers instead!
Costume masks are not permitted. Face paint is allowed, but must be in good taste. Students must be identifiable.
Costume props, swords, and/or toy weapons of any kind are not permitted. They will be taken from students and returned after the school day ends.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation.

Halloween Class Celebration Guidelines
If you'd like to send in Halloween "trinkets" like pencils, notebooks, stickers, etc., that is fine.
Our staff will have the children engage in fun, Halloween-themed activities throughout the course of the instructional day.
If you'd like to contribute games or decorations, have your PTO class parent make those arrangements with the homeroom teacher.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation.
