STUDENTS LEAVING SCHOOL EARLY DUE TO ILLNESS

If your child contacts you during the school day requesting to be picked up because he/she doesn't feel well, please ask him/her to visit Nurse O'Guin. I will assess your child to determine what interventions might be helpful to get through the school day or if he/she should be sent home. If it is determined that your child needs to go home, I will call you let you know and to arrange for pick up.

  • If a student goes home due to illness, the absence for the remainder of the day may only be excused if the student has been assessed by the nurse and the parent has received a phone call or email from the nurse or a staff member requesting that the student be picked up due to illness.
  • If a student is picked up or goes home due to illness without seeing the nurse or against the advisement of the nurse the absence will be considered unexcused for the remainder of the day.
