The Bobcat Bulletin

May 31, 2026
What an amazing Field Day we had at Indian Lane! Not only was the weather picture-perfect, but the best part of the day was seeing our entire school community come together. The smiles, laughter, friendly competition, and family support created memories that our students will cherish for years to come.
A huge thank you goes to Mr. Frank and Mrs. Lieberman for their outstanding planning and organization. Their hard work, attention to detail, and dedication ensured that every student had a fun, engaging, and successful day.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our incredible PTG for all they did to support Field Day. Their generosity, enthusiasm, and countless volunteer hours helped make the day such a memorable experience for our students. In addition, we are grateful to the many Indian Lane alumni volunteers who returned to lend a helping hand. It was wonderful to see former Bobcats giving back to the school community that helped shape them.
As we gear up for the final nine days of school, our calendar is packed with exciting celebrations, field trips, recognition ceremonies, and special end-of-year traditions. These last days provide wonderful opportunities to reflect on all that our students have accomplished while creating lasting memories with classmates and teachers.
One event you won't want to miss is Run the Lane! This is your last chance to register for one of our favorite Indian Lane family traditions. To date, we have 289 participants signed up. Last year, we reached 301 participants, and we're hoping to meet or even exceed that number this year. If you haven't registered yet, now is the time! Whether you're running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, Run the Lane is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow Bobcat families and celebrate our school community. *Please note that event T-shirts are no longer guaranteed for new registrations.
For those joining us on Saturday, the current forecast for Media calls for warm and sunny conditions in the morning, with temperatures climbing throughout the day.
Please take a few moments to read through this week's bulletin so you don't miss any of the exciting events and important information ahead. We look forward to celebrating these final days together and finishing another incredible school year strong.
Have a wonderful week, Bobcat families!
-Michelle Britton

Save the Date: 5th Grade Recognition
We are excited to celebrate our 5th grade students at our Recognition Ceremony on June 10 at 9:00 AM in the Indian Lane Cafeteria. This event recognizes our students’ accomplishments as they prepare for their transition to middle school. Due to our large class of 88 students and limited seating, and because 5th grade families will be decorating the gym the evening before for the end of year celebration, space in the cafeteria is limited. We ask that families carefully consider their needs when submitting ticket requests. Each household may request up to four tickets, but please only request the number you will use. After requests are submitted, tickets will be allocated and sent home with students in their backpacks prior to the ceremony. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to make this a meaningful experience for all students and families.

Run the Lane Registration is Now Open!
This race serves as a fundraiser for the NK Smiles Scholarship Fund, named in honor and memory of the late Norm Kelly, Jr., a beloved elementary school teacher in the Rose Tree Media School District. Mr. Kelly passed away in August 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. He left a lasting impact on the community as an educator, youth lacrosse coach, and friend to many.
Each year, the NK Smiles Scholarship is awarded to one male and one female Penncrest senior lacrosse player, as well as to students pursuing careers in education. Proceeds from Run the Lane directly support this meaningful scholarship fund.
Registration after May 21st does not guarantee a t-shirt.

Dear Parents,
It is time to fill out the Transportation Survey form for the 26-27 school year. This form is due by June 12, 2026. If your child is not riding the bus for the 25-26 school year, please either fill out the form (link below) or email bkinsler@rtmsd.org so that resources can be used efficiently. As always, thank you for your cooperation.

Sunscreen Permission Form
The sun has made a return! Parents are encouraged to apply sunscreen onto their students before coming to school each day or use sun protective clothing to protect their skin. If you would like your student to have sunscreen at school, it must be non-aerosol and able to be applied by the student. There is a Sunscreen Permission Form that also needs to be completed and returned. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
Tick Information
With the students playing outside more in the better weather, ticks have been making an appearance. The American Academy of Pediatrics has advice on how to prevent and remove ticks, as well as symptoms to watch out for following a tick bite. Ticks found on students during the school day will be sent out with an information sheet. Feel free to call the nurse's office with any questions.
