Grade Level Town Hall Meetings Grade Level Town Hall Meetings

Growing the Good and Setting up for Success

We are excited to be bac and it has been great to see our students' smiling faces. Grade levels came together this week to review expectations and start the new year off right! Students and staff coverted a variety of topics from how to handle different disappoints (kindergarten) to expectations around snow at Recess (Second Grade) or building perseverance (Fourth Grade). Our students and Caring Adults will continue to build on these toics over the next couple of weeks.

Second Grade thinks about snow at Recess

We have had winter weather leaving ice and snow on and around our playgrounds. During their Town Hall, Second Grade reviewed Recess expectations include what to do or not to do with the snow.

Fifth Grade Town Hall

Caring Adults and students have noticed an increase of fifth grade students joking that crosses the line to hurt feelings. In their town, fifth grade students and their Caring Adults explored the difference between good-natured joking and those jokes that turn hurtful. Kudos to our students for honest dialogue around these topics. Our goal is always to promote and expect an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome, and seen.

Learning from an Engineer

Miss Engel's third grade class got a first hand experience thanks to one student's grandmother sharing her knowledge and expertise. As engineer for the armed services, this community member presented during reading today, shared sea safety gear and advice, and even let students use a real aqualung (just like Jacques Cousteau).
