Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your continued support as we move through the first weeks of school. Now that our students have completed the MAP and Amira screeners, our teachers are beginning the important work of reviewing that information and using it to plan instruction.

These assessments give us a clearer picture of each student’s academic strengths, areas for growth, and readiness for new learning. Over the coming days, teachers will use MAP and Amira data along with classroom observations, student work, and other assessments to make thoughtful decisions about instruction.

This information will help teachers:

  • Identify skills and standards that need additional focus.
  • Plan small-group instruction based on student needs.
  • Provide intervention and extra support when needed.
  • Create enrichment opportunities for students who are ready for additional challenge.
  • Set learning goals and monitor student growth throughout the year.

It is important to remember that no single assessment defines a child. These screeners are simply one tool that helps us better understand where students are academically so we can meet them where they are and help them continue to grow.

Progress Reports Go Home Wednesday

This week also marks an important opportunity to communicate student progress with families. Progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday. We encourage you to review your child’s progress report carefully and use it as a starting point for conversations about learning, effort, goals, and growth.

If you have questions about your child’s progress, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Strong communication between home and school is one of the most important ways we can work together to support student success.

As we move forward, our focus remains the same: understand what our students need, provide purposeful instruction, and help every child make meaningful academic growth.

Thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and continued support of our scholars. We are excited about the learning ahead and look forward to seeing our students continue to grow.

Warm regards,

Will Zwingmann, Ed.S.

Principal
