Principal's Message
Ride Family,
Another fantastic week at Ride! Thank you to everyone who came out to Spring Creek Barbeque! I think we can officially say we took over the restaurant! It was so much fun passing out rolls, visiting with families, and seeing so many of our Challengers. What a great night!
We also wrapped up our Ride's Galaxy of Learning Fundraiser with our Blast Off Day! Our Challengers celebrated reaching our fundraising goal with a fun day of learning. A big thank you to all the parents who came out to help run stations and to our teachers who spent so much time planning these fun activities for our students. As I was helping Challengers into their cars at dismissal, I loved hearing so many of them say, "Today was the best day ever!" They couldn't wait to tell me about their favorite activities. That right there made all the hard work worth it!
If you haven't had a chance to turn in your fundraiser donations, please send them in on Tuesday. Also, a friendly reminder that Monday is a school holiday! I hope everyone enjoys a little extra family time and a slower morning!
Beginning Tuesday, October 13, our school day will be adjusted slightly to add a few extra minutes of instructional time. Because Conroe ISD used an inclement weather day earlier this year, this adjustment will help make up that missed time and allow us to bank an additional day in case we have another weather closure.
Our Challengers will still report to Active Start at 7:30 a.m., but classroom instruction will now begin at 7:50 a.m. instead of 7:55 a.m. Please help us by making sure your Challenger is in class and ready to learn by 7:50 each morning. Those few extra minutes each day will make a difference!
One of the things I love most about Ride is how our families always come together to support one another. We have several opportunities coming up to give back to our community, including our Coat and Sock Drive. Please take a look at the information below and consider helping if you can. It's another great way for us to show a little love to those around us.
Thank you for another wonderful week and for always partnering with us to make Ride the place to be! We really do have something special here, and I am so thankful to be part of this Ride family.
Enjoy your long weekend!

Attendance Matters
We are excited to launch a fun attendance incentive to celebrate our Ride Challengers for showing up, being on time, and ready to learn!
Every day at school matters! Consistent attendance helps our students build strong routines, stay connected to their learning, and continue growing.
We have created a DonorsChoose project to help fund fun prizes and incentives as we celebrate great attendance throughout the year.
If you would like to help, please consider donating or sharing our project with family and friends. Every donation—big or small—helps us encourage our Challengers to SHOW UP & SOAR!

GT Referral Window
Testing Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 1 - December 19, 2026. You may request a referral form from the front office or your child's teacher or you can download the form below. Please send the completed form to the school addressed to Bree Jones
Permission for Ridgewood Park
Throughout the school year, Ride Elementary students may visit Ridgewood Park for special events, activities, and learning experiences. Please complete this form to give permission for your child to visit, play, and participate in activities at Ridgewood Park with their class and teacher.
Please complete one form for each child who attends Ride Elementary.
Before each planned visit to Ridgewood Park, your child’s classroom teacher will send an email with information about the special event or activity.
Thank you for helping us provide our Challengers with fun and meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom!

Birthday Treats
To help us keep everyone safe and ensure celebrations run smoothly, please remember that any birthday treats brought to school must follow our treat guidelines. Treats should be commercially prepared, nut-free, and clearly labeled with ingredients.
**Please note that we can not accept birthday treats from Shipley’s Donuts, as their corporate office has informed us that their products contain nuts.**
Treats that do not meet these guidelines will not be permitted in the classroom. Thank you for your understanding and for helping us celebrate safely!

Breakfast & Lunch
Parents are encouraged to prepay for their child’s meals through myschoolbucks.com. Please allow up to 48 hours for payments to be applied to your child’s account.
Breakfast is served daily from 7:30–7:55 a.m. Breakfast costs $2.00, and a regular student lunch is $3.20. À la carte items are also available for purchase at varying prices.
For menus, nutrition information, and additional details, please visit the CISD Child Nutrition website.
If sending cash or a check to school, please place it in a sealed envelope labeled with your child’s name, ID number, and grade level to ensure the payment is applied correctly. Checks should be made payable to CISD Child Nutrition and include the parent’s driver’s license number and date of birth. Free and Reduced-Price Meals
Families interested in applying for free or reduced-price meals may complete an application through myschoolapps.com. Students who do not qualify for the free or reduced-price meal program will need funds in their account or payment at the time of purchase for breakfast and lunch.
Lunch Visitors
We have found that the first few weeks of school are an important time for students to build independence, learn routines, and become comfortable in their new environment. To support this transition, we kindly ask that parents and guardians wait until August 24 before joining their child for lunch.
Due to limited seating in our cafeteria, all lunch visitors will be required to sign up in advance. We will share additional information, including the lunch visitor sign-up process, in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we help our Challengers get off to a great start this school year!
School Hours
School hours are 7:50 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Students must be in their classroom before the 7:55 a.m. bell rings, or they will be considered tardy. Please note that 7:30 a.m. is the earliest time that your child may be dropped off. We do not have staff available to supervise students until that time.
Tardy Policy - A student is tardy if not in the classroom at 7:50 a.m. If your child is tardy, parents must sign him/her in at the front office. When a student is tardy, an e-mail will be sent to the student’s guardian for notification.
