CONFERENCES
We will have conferences on November 12! At these conferences, teachers will share data and information about your child's progress thus far. We have completed a series of assessments and always prefer to share these results in person, if possible. The conversations that can be had when we sit down and talk with one another about a student's successes and progress are always so beneficial! If you have questions ahead of time, please reach out.
SAEBRS: Grades 3 and 4
Hello 3rd & 4th Grade Families,
We would like to administer the MySAEBRS for your 3rd and 4th grade students this week, but we are still missing some permissions from families. This social and emotional screener is completed by the students on their Chromebooks using the Renaissance platform that brings us our STAR Reading and STAR Math assessments. Please complete this FORM to select whether you opt your child in or opt your child out. If you would like to see the results of this screener, you are welcome to communicate with me and I will get you the information! I'm also available to answer any questions you may have about this valuable tool...so don't hesitate to reach out!
Warmly,
Lori Arsenault
School Counselor
LIBRARY/MEDIA LEARNING UPDATE
EVACUATION DRILL
We are writing to inform you that Rye Elementary School will be conducting an evacuation DRILL on Tuesday, October 22, 2025. The purpose of this drill is to ensure that our students and staff are well-practiced in our emergency protocols and procedures, should a real emergency ever occur.
As part of this drill, we will be evacuating from the school building and boarding school buses, which will take our students and staff to the Rye Public Safety Building. Students and staff will practice moving to this location and following staff directions. Again, this is simply a practice to ensure that everyone understands the steps and feels confident in what to do in a real emergency. Some students may mention the drill when they come home that day, and we wanted you to be aware so you can support them with thoughtful conversation if needed.
All students and staff (except Preschool students, PreKindergarten students, facilities, an SAU 50 administrator, and kitchen staff) will leave Rye Elementary School on a bus and travel to the safety building on this day if they are present at school.
This is a planned and supervised exercise, coordinated in partnership with Homeland Security and our local Rye safety officials. Together with these professionals, we strive to reinforce the importance of safety, preparedness, and calm responses in emergency situations.
Please be assured that the safety and emotional well-being of our students is always our top priority. The drill will be conducted in a way that is age-appropriate and supportive, with staff guiding students through each step of the process.
There is no action required from families at this time, but we wanted to keep you informed in advance. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all.

PICTURE HIGHLIGHTS: SAFETY IN THE SPOTLIGHT!
Lockdown Drill; Thumbs Up from J9
Thank you to the Rye PD and Fire for their support during our lockdown drill. We got an A+ and the children (and staff) were AMAZING. This drill is becoming more and more familiar to us each year because we practice!
Fire Prevention Month
We are celebrating Fire Prevention Month with the Rye Fire Department who came to show our Kindergarten students how they use their uniforms to keep them safe and taught them some safety rules.
AND THEN...
The Kindergarten students got to go outside to see the fire trucks!!! They loved seeing Sparky use the hose (without water) and learned all about the ladder truck.
