JOES Community Calendar
Wednesday, August 20, 2025
Mark your calendar now! On Wednesday, August 20, JOES will host our annual Open House for grades 1-5 (Pre-K & K held meetings in August). We will begin the open house at 5 pm with a general session, during which new policies and procedures from the State Department of Education & the Vermilion Parish School Board will be shared. At approximately 5:30, the first session will start with the teachers. If you have more than 1 child or a child with 2 teachers (grades 3-5), you will switch to the 2nd session at 6 pm. The sessions with the teachers will allow parents & guardians to learn policies, procedures, & expectations from the teacher in the classroom. We hope to see you there.
Dates to Remember
The Vermilion Parish School Board has again built in 4 early dismissal days into the school year. Please take note of the dates below. Due to the fact that JOES and GHS share buses, JOES will dismiss right after GHS at approximately 11 am on these early dismissal days.
