Sun BUCKS—A Food Program for Children Sun BUCKS—A Food Program for Children

SUN Bucks is a supplemental food program from the State of California that helps families access food during Summer when school is not in session. Children and youth ages 0-22 who qualify will receive a card with $120 on it.

Many children who qualify for SUN Bucks (such as those who receive CalFresh) will receive their SUN Bucks card in the mail automatically, and the family needs to take no action to receive it. Other families who may be eligible must apply for SUN Bucks benefits, and acceptance is based on a state assessment of their income.

Children who get SUN Bucks can still participate in other food assistance programs, like CalFresh and Summer Meal Programs.

If your child may qualify for Sun BUCKS, we ask that you fill out a Universal Benefits Application, which is available on our website, and turn it into your school's front office. It will be forwarded to the District's Food Services Department, and then to the state for processing.

If you need assistance printing an application, please visit your school's front office. See the flyers below for more information.

Attendance Power Week Recap Attendance Power Week Recap

We hope your children enjoyed this week's "Attendance Madness" events, meant to generate excitement about going to school. From Monday's theme of wearing your favorite player's jersey or team colors to Thursday's theme of wearing school colors, these simple events succeeded in building community.

It's been a very close race, and the winner will be announced on Tuesday. Our Pupil Services team is planning a fun assembly for the winning school—the date will be determined soon.
