Principal's Update
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our annual IB Showcase. We are incredibly proud of our students and the projects they have completed this year. We hope you enjoyed visiting classrooms and listening to our band, chorus, and orchestra perform throughout the halls.
As we approach Spring Break, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication this school year. This break is a well-deserved opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. Whether you are traveling, resting, or simply enjoying time with family, we hope it is both enjoyable and refreshing.
Please remember that school will resume on Monday, April 13. Wishing you all a wonderful and restful Spring Break!

Year-end Decisions on High School Credit
If your child is enrolled in a high school credit course, you will have the option to accept or decline credit for each class. In May, you will receive an email with detailed information once teachers have finalized grades. At that time, you will be asked to respond via email with your decision for each course. If you choose to accept the credit, the grade will be recorded on your child’s high school transcript. If you choose to decline the credit, the grade will not appear on the transcript, and your child may be required to retake the course in high school.
The following courses are eligible for high school credit:
- Enhanced Algebra
- Algebra 1
- Geometry
- Enhanced Literature/Composition 1
- Literature/Composition 1
- Physical Science
- Japanese 1
- French 1
- Spanish 1
- Spanish for Native Speakers 1, 2, and 3
Building Parent Capacity: Understanding Standardized Testing
Understanding the role of testing will help you to enable your child to succeed in school and to develop a better relationship between your family and your child's school. Usually created by commercial test publishers, standardized tests are designed to give a common measure of students' performance. Because large numbers of students throughout the country take the same test, they give educators a common yardstick or ``standard'' of measure. Educators use these standardized tests to tell how well school programs are succeeding or to give themselves a picture of the skills and abilities of today's students.

Georgia Milestones Strategies
As we prepare for the upcoming Georgia Milestones, we want all students to feel confident and ready to do their best! Here are a few helpful tips:
- Get a good night’s sleep before each testing day so you are well-rested and focused.
- Eat a healthy breakfast to fuel your brain.
- Arrive on time and come prepared with a positive mindset.
- Take your time—read each question carefully and check your work before moving on.
- Use strategies you’ve learned in class, such as eliminating wrong answers and showing your work when needed.
- Stay calm and do your best—remember, this is your opportunity to show what you know!
We are proud of the hard work our students have put in all year and know they are ready to succeed!

Our Japanese students had the best Japanese lesson of the year! They enjoyed a truly wonderful tea ceremony. Our students were exceptional hosts as they prepared and served matcha to our special guests. As tea master 千利休 (Sen no Rikyū) taught through the spirit of 「一期一会」, we cherished every moment we shared with our guests—treating it as a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience.
