Hello from Principal Guditus
Hello Eddy Families,
Our full day of professional development this past Friday was time well-spent, and we appreciate your support for our ongoing learning and development as educators. Topics were varied, and included writing instruction, math fact acquisition, applied AI instruction in education, implementing health standards across the district, and many other opportunities for staff to professionally collaborate together.
We had a wonderful walk, ride, and roll to school this past week. Thank you to our students, families, and staff who were able to join, and a thank you to the Brewster bike and pedestrian committee for their enthusiastic support of this event!
Don't forget that the Brewster PTO meets this Wednesday, October 14 at 7pm at Eddy in the library and on Zoom here. All are welcome! Brewster School Committee meets this Thursday, October 15 at 6:30pm at Brewster Town Hall and on Zoom here.
A reminder that fall conferences are scheduled during the evening of Thursday, October 22 and afternoon of Friday, October 23. You will hear directly from your student's classroom teacher with a signup for fall conferences.
Here's to a great week of learning at Eddy Elementary School!
Best,
Steve Guditus

Walk To School 10.7.26
Thank you to all who walked, rode, and rolled to school this past week! It was a great community event and a great opportunity for us to move our bodies to get to school! We will have another event in the winter and spring, weather dependent.
Upcoming Assembly 10/21
On Wednesday, October 21, we will have an all-school assembly, Celebrating Neurodiversity at Eddy Elementary School. Katy Boucher is our speaker, who works at The Accord School in Norwell, MA. This program is a gift from The Kit and Jerry’s Foundation for Good, an organization established by the daughters of Kit and Jerry Boucher, who died in a tragic accident at First Encounter Beach in February, 2026. The foundation was set up in their memory to support community-based initiatives and to spread happiness and joy. Katy is one of the founders of the foundation, and has generously donated her time and energy to spread empathy and help our students learn about differences.
Katy's presentation to Eddy students will be an interactive assembly format. Through relatable videos from middle schoolers and an exploration of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, students will discover the many unique ways we all think, play, and learn. They will leave with a deeper understanding of empathy, fairness, and inclusion. Families can learn more about Katy’s assembly by exploring her website. After the assembly, parents and caregivers can keep the conversation going at home with this quick online guide for families designed by Katy.
We are excited to have this conversation and help students continue to develop empathy by learning more about howe we all learn differently!
