Volleyball Concludes Intense Week of 7 Matches; Senior Night Set for October 29

Last week, the Varsity volleyball team embarked on an exhilarating journey, competing in a grueling 7 matches and battling through 21 sets over the span of just 4 days, including an action-packed weekend tournament at Dakota Ridge. The team faced formidable opponents, including Niwot and Frederick, ultimately finishing the week with a record of 2 wins and 5 losses, bringing their season tally to 9-10. A standout moment came during their match against Frederick, where the team showcased their resilience by rallying back after losing the first two sets. They clinched the third set and engaged in a nail-biting back-and-forth in the fourth, narrowly falling short with a score of 32-30. This match was a testament to their tenacity and teamwork. Meanwhile, the JV team continued their impressive run, maintaining their undefeated streak with victories against both Niwot and Frederick!

Looking ahead, the teams will host Mead at home on Tuesday and then head to Longmont on Thursday. With only two weeks remaining in the regular season, Senior Night is just around the corner! We invite you to mark your calendars and join us on Tuesday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. before the Varsity game to honor our six graduating seniors: Bella Groelz, Lila Malia, Josie Price, Kate Ryan, Sophia Stack, and Marie Thrash.

Let's come together to celebrate their achievements and dedication!

Monarch Boys Tennis Team Shows Grit and Determination This Season

The Monarch Boys Tennis team demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill throughout this season. Despite facing challenging third-set losses against formidable opponents such as Fossil Ridge, Niwot, and Fairview, the team's spirit remained unyielding. Season highlights include an impressive second-place finish for the Varsity team at the Battle at The Rock tournament and a commendable fourth-place finish for the JV team at the Poudre tournament.

Last week, the team competed at the Regionals, where several players advanced past the first round. However, with only the top two players qualifying per position for the State tournament, the season has come to a close.

As we reflect on this journey, we want to take a moment to honor our dedicated seniors: Aidan Swett, Ian Kracklauer, Tyler Sontrop, Josh Kim, Ben Redding, Kai Anh-O’Connor, Tommy Christopher, and Landon Bondurant. Their leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact on the team. We wish them all the best as they embark on their next adventures beyond Monarch!

Coyotes Gold Team Dominates Weekend Matches

The Coyotes Gold team had an impressive weekend, securing victories in both of their games. On Friday night, they faced off against the Wolverines and emerged victorious with a commanding 6-0 score. Goals were netted by Arno Bergstrom, Brandon Miller, Jacob Miller, Jake Oullahan, Charlie Broome, and Zach Rathburn. The following night, the Gold team continued their winning streak, defeating Resurrection Christian 3-1, with goals coming from Zach Rathburn, Arno Bergstrom, and Jake Oullahan.

Meanwhile, the Coyotes Black team also had a competitive week. They triumphed over the Raiders last week with a close 3-2 win, thanks to goals from Harry Kershaw, Brendan Radder, and Anthony Skul. However, they faced a setback against the Golden Eagles on Saturday, losing 3-1, with Ben Aschack scoring the team's sole goal.

Looking ahead, the Gold team will be back in action next weekend, playing at home on Friday night at 8:15 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 12:35 p.m. The Black team will travel to Valor on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. before returning home for a match on Sunday at 4:50 p.m. Come out and support our teams!

Girls' Basketball - New Coach + Open Gym

It is with great pleasure to share the exciting news that Kincaid Bimler was recently hired as the Monarch High School Girls' Basketball Program's new head coach.

We are very enthusiastic about Coach Bimler as he has a deep passion for the game, greatly values the opportunity to mentor his student-athletes, and has developed incredible basketball IQ over his 15+ years of coaching experience.

One of his early goals for the program is to encourage interest in girls' basketball by offering open gym workouts prior to official tryouts and by starting a Monarch Youth Basketball Program.

For any girl who wants to check things out, please come to the open gym workouts on October 16th, 23rd, 30th from 6:45-8:15 and November 4th, 5th, 7th, 11th, 12th and 14th from 6:00-7:30. These are super fun and a great way to get an idea of what the culture is like within the MoHi's Girls' basketball program.

The Monarch Youth Basketball Program is still in development but the vision is to have a team of middle school girls play in the Gold Crown's winter league. More to come on this, stay posted.

Tryouts for the Monarch Girls' Basketball team are scheduled for November 18th, 19th and 20th. Mark your calendars!

Welcome to the Monarch Booster Club: Where Student Passions Soar!

Who Are We?

We're not just any parent group – we're the heart and soul of student support at Monarch High!

What makes us unique? We're the only parent volunteer organization at Monarch High, stepping in where there's no PTO or PTA. Our mantra is simple yet powerful: WE SUPPORT STUDENTS!

From Aviation Club to Choir to Soccer, we've got ALL students covered. With over 85% of Monarch students engaged in after-school activities, we're here to fan the flames of every student's passion. Whether your student is hitting high notes in the choir, coding the next big app, or scoring goals on the field, we're here to cheer them on and provide the support they need to excel.

In essence, we're the wind beneath the wings of Monarch's diverse and talented student body. Our goal? To ensure that every student has the resources and support they need to pursue their interests, develop their skills, and shine bright in their chosen activities.

What Do We Do?

  1. Bridge the Budget Gap: We're the financial superheroes for Monarch's clubs and activities! Last year, we granted over $36,000 to fill the space between budgets and actual needs. Think essential gear like tents/radios for the Mountain Bike Club, cutting-edge cameras for our budding journalists in Newspaper Club, and even pole vaults for our high-flying Track stars. When school budgets fall short, we leap into action!
  2. Shower Seniors with Scholarships: $10,000 in scholarships last year – that's 10 lucky seniors getting a $1,000 boost!
  3. Host Epic Tailgates: Buy a t-shirt, and you're in for a year of food, fun, and fantastic company!
  4. Run 'The Cave': Your one-stop shop for Monarch spirit wear and game-day snacks.
  5. Shout Student Success: We're the proud parent voice in newsletters and social media, celebrating every achievement.
  6. Throw the Bash of the Year: Our annual Booster Bash is the talk of the town – cocktails, dinner, dancing, and auctions galore!
