Home/School Communication
Open communication is an integral part of our school community. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s education, please don’t hesitate to reach out and contact the school for clarification or to share important information. Your child's teacher is typically your first point of contact. Likewise, teachers will also contact you when they need your support to ensure your child’s success. The partnership between home and school has a positive impact on students' engagement, motivation, behavior and academics!
Lost & Found
Parking Lot
When dropping off and picking up students, please ensure you are not parking in bus zones or staff parking spaces at any time, even for a quick stop. Staff parking spaces have all been allocated between the staff from Lakeland Ridge, Holy Spirit and EIPS Supports for Students. All staff parking spots are in use, however, you may see some open spots because staff from all 3 organizations arrive and depart at various times of the day. Please do not park in an empty staff parking space.
Door Locking Procedures
All exterior doors, including the front entrance doors, will always be locked, and opened only for student and visitor access during designated school entry times.
Our front entrance is equipped with a doorbell and camera linked to the front office. Visitors seeking entry into the school are required to use the main entrance and ring the bell for assistance. Please remember to sign in at the office on our iPad. For safety reasons, it is imperative that we are aware of who is in the building and where there are helping out just in case of an emergency.
Athletics
Volleyball tryouts for senior teams have already begun with junior tryouts starting next week.
Check out our Athletics calendar for updates.
Fairness and Safety in Sport Act
The Government of Alberta has passed the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act which went into effect September 1, 2025.
Parents of every athlete 12 years of age or older who wish to play on a female-only sports team or in a female-only league will be required to confirm in writing that the athlete meets all the eligibility requirements as set out in the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act and Fairness and Safety in Sport Regulation before they are able to compete. At Lakeland Ridge, eligibility declarations will be sent out to guardians once team rosters have been established.
You can find more information on this legislation on this website: Ensuring fairness and safety in sport | Alberta.ca.

Division Code of Conduct
EIPS has three administrative procedures (APs) that address the Division’s code of conduct:
· AP 311: Welcoming, Caring, Respectful and Safe Learning Environments for Students
· AP 350: Student Code of Conduct
· AP 351: Student Conduct on School Buses
The Division, and Lakeland Ridge School, are committed to ensuring all members of the school community are provided with welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments that respect diversity and foster a sense of belonging. EIPS encourages all students, staff and families to review the procedures to understand and practice the conduct expected throughout the Division.
Video Surveillance at Schools and on Buses
Did you know each EIPS bus is equipped with video surveillance, and many school sites have video monitoring equipment?
Video surveillance and equipment help:
- ensure the safety of all students, staff, drivers and property; and
- discourage destructive acts.
As needed, EIPS school administration and Student Transportation staff review video recordings, in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Act. The recordings assist schools and the Division with monitoring student and driver conduct and may be used as evidence in a disciplinary matter.
For more information about the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, contact the EIPS Privacy Officer at 780-464-3477.
