Sunset PTO's "One and Done" Fundraiser is coming up!

The Fun Run is a PTO sponsored event and is Sunset School’s "one and done" fundraiser. Students can seek flat donations or pledges per lap. Students are encouraged to run, walk, cartwheel, spin or even dance around our Fun Run course. The goal is to have FUN! Students who raise funds have the chance to enter into raffles for prizes. All funds directly support our students and Sunset classrooms with new learning materials, playground upgrades and extras, special school events for students and families, as well as classroom field trips and special activities.

Watch your student's backpacks for the Fun Run packet to come home. We will post the Fun Run schedule as soon as it is available.

Happy 2026-2027 school year! My name is Jessica Dominick, and I am thrilled to join the Sunset team this year. This marks my 13th year as an educator and my 5th year specializing in Title I support.
My seven-year-old daughter, Veda, is also joining the Sunset community as a second grader. When we aren't at the ice rink or dance studio cheering her on, our family loves spending time outdoors hiking, paddleboarding, and skiing. It is a big year for our family as my step-daughter, Nora, is starting her first semester at the University of Arkansas.
Books are a huge passion of mine, and I am currently just one book away from completing my 2026 alphabet reading challenge! I look forward to partnering with Sunset students, families, and staff to instill a lifelong love of reading. It is going to be a fantastic school year!

Hi, my name is Marisa Schroeder and I am so happy to be back at Sunset as the 2/3 SpEd Resource Teacher. Most of you know me back when I was a behavior technician in the district. Last year, I worked in the Behavior Program at Eastside while finishing my Masters Degree (I'll be done in 1 more week!). My Masters is in K-12 Special Education with a LBD (learning and behavior disorders) emphasis. This will be my 19th year teaching and my 26th year in education. I taught for almost 18 years as a middle school math, science and agriculture teacher. I also taught 3rd grade for 3 years.

I don't have spare time or hobbies. I love music and can usually name that tune in less than 3 seconds. My husband, Carl Sauerwein is my other boss, (not by choice), and I work as the livestock manager and employee/guest relations go-to for his outfitting business.

My two greatest accomplishments in life are my boys, Kolton and Ty. They attended school here for a couple of years and played Broncs basketball and football. Kolton is an electrical engineer on F-16's for the US Air Force and is stationed in South Korea, with 2 years in Italy starting in December. My youngest, Ty, is a heavy equipment operator and builds runways for the US Air Force. He is stationed at Nellis AFB in Vegas now, and will deploy to the Tinian Islands in October.

I'm calm, quiet, have a decent sense of humor and aim to please. I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of Sunset again, and am thankful to work with an incredible group of people

Hello! My name is Brittany Blakesley, and I am thrilled to join the Sunset family as a Title I teacher. This is my 16th year in education, and I am passionate about helping every child grow and succeed.

My husband, Jake, and I live between Cody and Powell with our two sons, Holter (8) and Fisher (5). As a family, we love spending time outdoors camping, fishing, hunting, and downhill skiing whenever we get the chance. When we're not outside, you'll usually find us gathered around the table playing board games.

I look forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to help every student reach their full potential. I am grateful to be part of this wonderful school community and can't wait for a fantastic school year!

Hi everyone! I’m Sarah Rose Mumm, and I’m thrilled to join the Sunset family this year as a 4th grade teacher. While this is my 7th year in the classroom, it’s my first year at Sunset! Outside of school, my life is all about family and rodeo. I’m a rodeo stock contractor with 22 bucking horses of my own. I have two boys—a 4th grader and a high school freshman who is currently competing in his rookie year for the Wyoming Pro Rodeo Association. I'm looking forward to a fantastic school year!

My name is Sunny Merritt, and I am the new school counselor at Sunset. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience working with children, families, and communities. My background includes school counseling, hospice and oncology social work, public health, and mental health.

I have been blessed to live in Cody for over 20 years and feel lucky to call Cody home. My family has been part of Park 6 for many years and we love our school district. Two of my kids have graduated from CHS, and our other kids are currently in middle/high schools. Each of my children attended Sunset, so Sunset has been a big part of our family for many years! I am very happy to be back at Sunset and look forward to getting to know our students and families and supporting them throughout the school year.

Outside of work, I enjoy the mountains, camping, fishing, reading, baking, working in my flower beds, and spending time with my awesome family and friends.
