Mission Possible: 1st Quarter Checkpoint

It’s hard to believe we are already wrapping up the first quarter! Our Mission Possible is off to a great start, and I am proud of the growth we are seeing from our students both academically and behaviorally.

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up soon and are an important part of our mission. This is a great opportunity for families and teachers to connect, celebrate successes, talk about areas for growth, and make sure we are working together to help every student be successful.

As you prepare for conferences, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Come ready to share. You know your child best. Share anything that may help us better understand and support them at school.

  • Talk with your child before the conference. Ask what is going well, what has been challenging, and what they are most proud of so far.

  • Make the most of your conference time. If more time is needed, we are always happy to schedule a follow-up conversation.

  • Keep the mission going at home. After conferences, celebrate the positives and talk with your child about one or two goals for the next quarter.

Thank you for being an important part of our team and helping make our Mission Possible a success. Together, we can help our Leopards stay Ready, Present, and Proud as we head into the second quarter.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns at 402-293-4880 or chad.zavala@bpsne.net.

Healthy Students Learn Best

As cold and flu season begins, many families wonder when children should stay home and when they can safely attend school.

Students should remain home if they have a fever, are vomiting, or have symptoms that would prevent them from participating in learning. Once they have recovered according to school health guidelines, returning promptly helps prevent unnecessary missed instruction.

Routine medical and dental appointments remain important. Whenever possible, consider scheduling appointments before or after school or on days when students are not in session.

Good nutrition, adequate sleep, regular exercise, and handwashing are simple habits that reduce illness throughout the school year.

Family Tip: Review the school's illness guidelines so you know when students should stay home and when they are ready to return.

Attendance Reminder: Missing several individual days throughout the year can add up quickly. Healthy habits help students stay engaged in learning.

We are looking for some Heroes!!

We are looking for real-life heroes to visit our school during Red Ribbon Week at the end of October. Whether you are a hero in your workplace (healthcare, first responders, tradespeople, essential workers), a hero for our country (military and veterans), or an everyday hero in your family and community, we would love for you to share your story with our students.

If you or someone you know is interested in inspiring our students, please fill out our quick Volunteer Google Form to let us know that you would like to participate. More information will be provided to those who are interested. Thank you for helping us show our students what true strength, dedication and character look like!

First Count Forms - Due October 26th First Count Forms - Due October 26th

Each year Bellevue Public Schools is required under federal law to conduct a "First Count" on a specified date. The "First Count" is an actual form that parents/guardians are asked to complete for every child enrolled in the Bellevue Schools. These forms are then used to determine Bellevue's eligibility and funding through the Impact Aid Program. Impact Aid is a federal program that provides funding to local school districts as a result of the presence of a federal installation. The information you provide on the form is confidential and will only be available to school and federal officials.

First Count forms were sent home with students on Tuesday, October 6th. Please complete 1 form for each school aged child and return to school by Monday, October 26th.

If you have questions or need an additional form, please contact the school Office.
