Tiger Talk
04/15/25

Hello Families,
I hope you're all enjoying the week so far! I have just a couple of important updates and reminders for this evening and tomorrow.
🛠️ Update About our Track for 6 PM this Evening
Our amazing LT construction crew will be on campus this evening at 6:00 PM to complete the final painting of the white stripe on our new track! To help them finish their work safely and efficiently, we kindly ask that students and families stay off of the playground and track area this evening.
đźš« Playground Safety Reminder
As a friendly reminder, our track is designed specifically for walking and running only. For the safety of all students, bikes, scooters, and skateboards are not permitted on the track or anywhere inside the playground area. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and enjoyable for everyone!
🧪 STAAR Science Test – Closed Campus Tomorrow
Tomorrow, our awesome 5th graders will be taking the Science STAAR test, and we are so proud of the hard work they’ve put in! To support a focused testing environment, please remember that we will be a closed campus all day tomorrow—no visitors, lunch drop-offs, or volunteers.
Please help your student be ready to shine by ensuring he/she gets a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast in the morning.
We’re growing 1% better every day, and we couldn’t do it without your continued support!
With warmest regards,
Amy Russ, Principal
Thanks for being PAWSitive!
Tigers demonstrating PAWSitive behavior are nominated to have their names added to our WOW Board. WOW Board members are then eligible to win a fun brag tag and Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass entitles each WOW Board member to enjoy lunch on the stage with a buddy of his/her choice.
This photo is of our WOW Board #12 Members. Congratulations, Tigers!
Nurse Kate Needs Clothing
Sometimes our Tigers have accidents that require a change of clothing.
Our clinic has run out of small undies, pants, and shorts and would be happy to receive new or gently used items for boys and girls if you have any that you can send our way, please and thanks!
We are especially in need of small sizes--size 6 and under.
Returning Student Verification
Dear Lake Travis ISD Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to announce the opening of Returning Student Verification for the 2025-2026 school year. This process is required to be completed for all students who will be returning for the 2025-2026 school year. If your child will not be returning to Lake Travis ISD for the 2025-2026 school year, please contact your campus registrar and submit the appropriate withdrawal form.
To complete the Returning Student Verification process, the parent/guardian listed as the primary parent in Skyward should log into Skyward Family Access and click on the “Returning Student Verification 2025-2026” tile (refer to image below).
Please note, you will be required to verify and update information on your student, family, and residency. Current proof of residency documentation (fully executed lease agreement, signed closing documents, most recent property tax statement, mortgage statement, or property deed in parent's/guardian’s name), AND a current utility bill (water, electricity, or gas with parent's/guardian’s name) are a required portion of the online form.
While returning students are automatically enrolled for the coming school year, student information must be verified and/or updated annually. Therefore, the primary parent/guardian must complete the verification process for each child before August 1, 2025.
Once you have submitted the online form, the tile will no longer be available in Skyward Family Access under the student’s profile. You can view the online forms that have been submitted by navigating to 1. Main Menu > 2. Online Forms > 3. My Online Forms History (refer to image below).
The completion of this form assists your campus with planning for the 2025-2026 school year. We appreciate your participation!
Sincerely,
Marco Alvarado
Executive Director for Communications & Community Relations
It is that time of year again where we begin to work on our next school year schedule and class lists. The parent input form for the 25-26 school year is open! In making class assignments, our goal is to place each child in a class where he or she can be most successful.
A secondary goal is to also maintain a balance among classes in terms of gender, academic ability, disciplinary and social needs, learning styles, and individual needs of the students. All information shared is confidential and submitted electronically to West Cypress Hills Elementary administration.
We hope to make classroom assignments that will maximize the opportunity for your child’s success. If you have information you would like to have considered in your child’s placement, please complete and submit this form. Please limit your input to the way your child learns and any information we should consider.

On Monday, March 31, our school will be embarking on a special project: an all-school book club called One Community, One School, One Book. This week our Library is sending every Tiger family a copy of The Mouse and the Motorcycle, and we invite each family to read this book together at home during the program.
Please make the time for your family to participate in this special activity.
Thank you, WCHE PTO, for generously purchasing the books for us! As shown below, the Tigers in Mrs. Roy's 4th Grade class are very grateful and excited to receive their new books!

Mr. Wernicke of Bee Cave Middle School is hosting a summer running camp!
7/28 - 7/30 from 5 to 8 pm
Registration for Camp Save-a-Watt is now open! PEC’s free online summer camp offers various educational videos, lessons, crafts, and weekly activities to keep the learning going all summer. The eight-week camp encourages kindergarten through fifth-grade students to save energy, learn about electricity, and how to be safe around it.
Campers can also join us for in-person events like Solar Car Derby and Meet a Lineworker. This year, we will be adding two Egg Drop events where campers can put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building an egg-protecting contraption using recycled materials at home. Campers will test the effectiveness of their design as they watch it drop from a PEC bucket truck.
All campers who register before May 16 will receive a free camp t-shirt! Registration closes May 30. Visit mypec.com/camp to learn more and register today.
