Message from the Administration
Dear SJH Families,
It is hard to believe we are already over a week into the school year! The start of this year has been filled with excitement, preparation, and many opportunities to connect as a school community.
Before students ever walked through our doors, our teachers spent time engaged in professional development, collaborating, refining instructional practices, and preparing meaningful learning experiences for students. We also welcomed our newest Seahawks during 7th Grade Boot Camp, where students had the opportunity to become familiar with the school, meet staff members, and begin developing connections before the first day of school.
One of the highlights of the start of the year was seeing so many students and parents/guardians attend Back-to-School Night. The energy in the building and the support shown for our students were incredible. Strong school-home partnerships make a difference, and we are thankful for the trust you place in us each day.
As we settle into the routine of a new school year, students are beginning to find their rhythm, build positive relationships, and engage in learning. We know that this doesn't happen without your support. I want to recognize and celebrate the hard work you have put into helping students arrive at school on time, prepared, and ready to learn. Developing routines, supporting homework habits, and motivating students as they return to school take significant effort, and we appreciate all you do.
Thank you for working with us as we work together to help every student succeed. We are off to a great start, and we look forward to an outstanding year at Syracuse Junior High.
Go Seahawks!

If you would like to give permission for your child to receive and consume foods, snacks, and drinks provided by the school during school hours, including items that do not meet the nutrition specifications established in Utah Code 53G-9-205, please sign the permission form found in your MyDSD account under "sign documents".
Community Council
We are seeking candidates to serve on the Syracuse Junior High School Community Council (SCC) for the upcoming term.
The School Community Council plays an important role in supporting student achievement. Council members help review academic goals and determine how School LAND Trust funds are used to support learning and academic success at SJH. This year, our school received $147,312.97 in School LAND Trust funding.
We encourage interested parents, guardians, and eligible employees to consider serving on the council. Membership is a great way to be involved in the school community and contribute to decisions that impact students.
