2nd Graders Discover Earth on the Move at Annual Field Experience
Second-grade scientists took their classroom to the Saddle Rock Trailhead for the annual Earth on the Move field experience.
Students explored iconic Wenatchee landforms: the Wenatchee Dome, Saddle Rock, and the natural forces that shaped them. They sketched detailed diagrams in field journals, got their hands in the soil, and discovered firsthand what erosion actually looks like when you are standing in the middle of it. Science becomes real when we get to experience it for ourselves out in nature.
Science field experiences are coordinated by WSD's Science Resource Center and an army of dedicated volunteer educators for WSD and area private schools.
WHS Student Clubs Support Cancer Care with Luminarias and Happy Letters
More than 40 Wenatchee High School students spent their lunch break this week decorating luminarias and writing notes of encouragement for people affected by cancer.
The students are members of Key Club, RAK and Interact Club. Together, they decorated luminarias for the Lights of Hope Luminaria, a fundraiser for Cancer Care NCW and Our House. Each luminaria honors someone who has died of cancer or is still fighting it.
They also wrote Happy Letters for guests at Our House, which provides a place to stay for out-of-town patients receiving cancer treatment in Wenatchee. For families far from home during treatment, a handwritten note from a local student can mean a lot.

🏫 Bond Information
The November 3 Bond: Improving Air Quality Across Wenatchee
The proposed bond is about more than Wenatchee High School. It would also replace aging heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at seven schools across the district.
HVAC improvements are proposed at Lewis & Clark, Mission View, Newbery, and Sunnyslope elementary schools, as well as Foothills, Orchard, and Pioneer middle schools.
Many of these systems are operating beyond their expected lifespan. Replacing them would provide more reliable heating and cooling, improve indoor air quality, and help schools better filter air during wildfire smoke events.
Learn more about the proposed HVAC projects at wenatcheeschools.org/bond.

Cross Country Coach Steve Roche follows to catch us up to date on the season. He's followed by sophomore runner Brooklyn Biwer. She talks about transitioning from track to cross country and how she likes running against the boys. Next up is senior Girls Soccer player Sophia Garcia. She and the Panthers are ranked #3 on the WIAA RPI poll this week as Wenatchee has reeled off 5-wins in a row including 4-shutouts. Finally, Eric is joined by Girls Soccer Coach Ashton Kirkpatrick for an update on the season so far and how they're dealing with injuries and absences to keep a good season going.
