Owens Families,

Currently Owens is at 50% of students with their Technology Agreements signed in the Parent Self-Serve Portal. The campuses with the highest percentage of Tech Agreement signed will be the first campuses to become 1:1 when new devices arrive. We need to get to 100% before that time.

Here are the steps to ensure Owens reaches 100%. This will take less than a minute to complete if you could do this ASAP. Teachers will be routinely checking their own class percentages of completion. You will check an agreement for each child if you have more than one student at Owens or in the district.

It has been brought to my attention that some families received the texts like the picture attached to this message from an 'Owens Elementary S.' This is NOT our Owens. I am not sure how this happened some staff have gotten those messages as well. We will never use Remind to communicate with parents schoolwide. We will only use our Thrillshare system/Tyler ISD app. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and recommend you "unsubscribe" from that group. It must be another school somewhere else. Typically our communication is on Friday via SMORE. If there is a need to send additional information we would send texts, emails, post on the live feed on the website, as well as, social media.

On the recent Coffee with the Principal and Counselor, there was some concern raised about the following potentially causing accidents that can easily be prevented:

• Please do not turn left to enter the PreK/Kindergarten pick up line in the afternoon. The stopped traffic causes congestion and those going around without a shoulder endanger others.
• Please be mindful of speed limits and other drivers at the dismissal lanes in the afternoon. The traffic from the front drive and the traffic from the cafeteria drive sometimes interfere with one another.

I realize everyone is doing the best they can and the roads surrounding our school are not conducive to long lines and traffic. Thank you for all doing your part to create the safest environment possible for our Owens students, staff, and community.

Below are pictures of the lost and found in our gymnasium so far. Please help us get items back to their rightful owners. If you have not already written your child's name in their winter gear, do so today with a sharpie. It helps us get items right back to your child when they are left behind. To claim an item from the photographs below:

• Reference the photo and be specific about which item belongs to your child
• Include the child's name and homeroom teacher so we can return the item
