As of October 14, 2025, the U.S. government shutdown continues, halting new SBA loan approvals and temporarily pausing funding for new applications. While this pause may feel uncertain, it’s important to remember that your business ownership journey doesn’t have to stop. In fact, this is the perfect time to stay proactive, prepare your funding plan, and position yourself to move quickly once SBA operations resume.
Preferred SBA lending partners are still accepting, processing, and underwriting applications even though new disbursements are on hold. This means lenders can continue collecting documents, packaging files, and securing pre-approvals so applicants are ready to fund as soon as the SBA reopens. Historically, government shutdowns have been temporary, so staying ready ensures you’ll be first in line when approvals resume.
In the meantime, several alternative funding paths remain fully open, including:

ROBS (401(k) Business Financing): No lender approval or SBA processing required.

Unsecured Loans: Quick access to capital with flexible terms.

Home Equity Lines of Credit: Can be used for business purposes.
What You Can Do Now:

Stay proactive by finalizing your business plan and gathering all documentation.

Work with your lender to keep your file moving through underwriting.

Explore ROBS or unsecured funding options to maintain momentum.

Continue all other discovery activities with me and your business partners.
Your entrepreneurial dreams shouldn’t wait on government timelines. Use this brief pause as an opportunity to plan smarter, refine your strategy, and prepare for a strong launch once operations resume.
