The Prairie Dell Elementary Post

November is here, and we have so much to be thankful for at Prairie Dell! As we head into the month, we’re looking forward to a season of learning, growing, and making meaningful memories together. Be sure to check out our November newsletter for upcoming events, important dates, and a few highlights from around PDE.

As always, we are here to support our students and families. Please don’t hesitate to stop by the office, give us a call, or reach out if there is anything we can do to help. We are grateful to have such wonderful families as part of the Prairie Dell community!

Thank you to everyone who sold items during our Cookie Dough Fundraiser! Cookie Dough and item pick ups will be on Tuesday, November 10th from 3:00-6:00pm. We ask that ALL orders be picked up in a timely manner as we do not have freezer space to hold any items.

We would like to invite all Veterans to join in our Veteran Day Celebration on November 11th.

There will be a Veteran Car Parade at 10:00 am! Our students at Prairie Dell will line the drive around our school and we will have the Honorees drive through in their own personal vehicles. We look forward to honoring our Heroes!

November 2-November 20th

Our Kops and Kids Food Drive is just around the corner! This is a great chance for our students, families, and local police officers to team up and help make sure no one in our community goes hungry this season.

We’ll be collecting non-perishable food items like canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, peanut butter, and more. We will also be collecting cash donations. All donations will be given to the Union Food Pantry.

This event is all about:

· Giving back to families who need a little extra support

· Building positive connections between kids and local officers

· Showing how small acts of kindness can make a big difference

As in years past, students can bring in their canned goods or cash donations to their homeroom/first period class. The class with the most donations from each building will receive a Pizza Party from the Union Police Department.

Our students who earned zero office referrals throughout October enjoyed a fun-filled PBIS Fall Festival! Students rotated through a variety of activities, including yard games, a photo booth, a hayride, sidewalk chalk, and face painting. It was a great way to celebrate positive choices and showing ROAR!

We are already looking forward to our Second Quarter Celebration for students who earn zero office referrals throughout the second quarter. A huge thank-you to our volunteers who generously gave their time, our specials teachers for organizing and supervising the activities, and our amazing A+ students who spent the day helping make the festival special for everyone. We appreciate everyone who helped make this celebration a success!

Change of Clothes

The weather is changing, it is a good time to check that your child's extra clothes are seasonly appropriate.

Health Reminders

• Students with fever need to be 24 hours fever free without the use of fever reducing medication prior to returning to school.
• Students cannot bring any medication to school, including cough drops.
• All medicine must be brought in by a parent or guardian and dropped off with the nurse.
• Thank you for helping keep students healthy and safe!

PTO has graciously offered to pay for any student wanting to eat school lunch on our Thanksgiving meal of turkey and gravy. Dress in your best, bring your manners, and let's feast on November 20th.

We’d love to see you at our next PTO meeting! Whether you’re a returning member or just curious about getting involved, everyone is welcome. It’s a great opportunity to see what PTO is all about, learn how you can be involved, and meet other Prairie Dell families. See you in the PDE cafeteria on November 18th at 5pm.
