ZOOMOBILE

On Friday, March 7th, two representatives from EARTH Limited (out of Southwick's Zoo) visited the high school to present to biology students on animal adaptations and ecology. The live animal species included a Brazilian rainbow boa, a frilled lizard, an African leopard tortoise, a three-banded armadillo, a skunk, and an African crested porcupine. The students were excited to learn about and see each of these species. Funding for this presentation was provided by the Watertown Community Foundation. Thank you WCF for this wonderful learning opportunity!

BRAZILIAN CLUB & FILM GUILD EVENT

On March 3rd, students from the Brazilian Club and the Film Guild went to Arlington's Capitol Theatre to watch the film I'm Still Here. The movie tells the real life story of a family in 1971 Rio de Janeiro that is forced to reinvent itself after the father, a former congressman, is arrested and disappears during a time of military dictatorship. The movie stars Fernanda Torres, who just became the first Brazilian actress to win a Golden Globe award. They highly recommend it!

Anything Goes

In case you missed it, our Drama club's spring musical production of Anything Goes was during the first weekend of March. Needless to say, it was outstanding!! The set required the efforts of nearly 100 WHS students, faculty, and families contributing and working more than 2,000 hours to build, transport, assemble, and put away! Check out this link for more behind the scenes of the set production. A special shoutout to Mr. Wulf, Ms. Wilson, and Mr. Poillucci for their extremely hard work and dedication to our students. Also, thank you to Mr. Giacobozzi and Mr. Saunders for their help backstage in the pit!

String Specatacular

Under the direction of Ms. Byham and Ms. Burtman, our students performed to a full-capacity crowd and did not disappoint!

QUARTER 3 PROGRESS REPORTS

Progress reports were distributed to students today. These reports provide an update on student progress this quarter and often include ways for students to further succeed for the remainder of the quarter. Please also take note of the number of absences listed in the "A" column at the far right. This is the total number of absences your student has had in each class during Quarter 3. As a reminder, students who have more than 5 unexcused absences in a class lose credit in that class for the quarter.

JUNIOR AND SENIOR ASSEMBLY

Today we held an assembly with our 11th and 12th grade students to discuss end of year events and behavioral expectations. We ask families to please review the presentation (here) we shared with students and encourage you to have open conversations with your students about the events.
