Happy Wednesday BIS families,

What a wonderful start to the school year. BIS students are settling in and are already very excited to learn. We started our school-wide book Wonder last week and kicked off our Positive Office Referrals on Friday. These weekly shoutouts recognize outstanding students who exemplified respect, responsibility, and resilience. Students get their names announced in the morning, a special visit from me and Mrs. Langill, an individual certificate to bring home, and a fun new pencil. This is one of our favorite ways to wrap up the week.

Fun Fridays: Every Friday at BIS is Tiger Pride Friday. But once a month we add in a special Fun Friday to switch things up and add some extra excitement! Below you will find our monthly Fun Fridays for 2021 for your calendars at home. Our first Fun Friday is September 24. For School Pride Day, we are encouraging 3rd Grade to wear BLACK and 4th Grade to wear ORANGE.

BIS Picture Day: The BIS picture day is October 5th. More details to come.

Arrival/Dismissal: Thank you for your patience as we work through the beginning of the year adjustments to arrival/dismissal and bussing. The transportation office and our BIS administrative assistants are working hard to accommodate our families. Our morning drop-off is getting quicker and our students are walking into school prepared and ready to learn!

Dear 3rd and 4th Grade Parents and Guardians,

In an effort to help our school community better understand the benefits and process around pooled testing, our district nurses have put together Nursing News (linked here) which includes all the relevant information to make an informed decision. Individuals who participate in pooled testing are exempt from quarantine in the classroom, bus, sports, or other school-related activities should they be identified as a close contact.

Consents are required to be enrolled in pooled testing (One Form Per Child). Once consents and supplies are received, specific pools will be established by our nursing staff based on numbers per classroom/advisory and Pooled Testing will begin on October 4th.
