How to Help Protect Yourself Against the Flu
With flu-like illness activity at the highest recorded level in 25 years, here are some useful suggestions from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and NJ Department of Health to help reduce the risk and exposure to the illness.
Core prevention strategies are essential practices recommended for everyone. They provide a foundation of protection for you and your loved ones:
- Stay up to date with recommended immunizations. Talk to your doctor or trusted healthcare provider about what may be recommended for you and your family.
- Practice good hygiene like washing your hands regularly and cleaning commonly touched surfaces.
- Take steps for cleaner air as possible in places where people live and work.
- When sick with a respiratory illness:
- Use precautions to prevent spread. Stay home and away from others.
- Seek health care promptly for treatment if you have risk factors for severe illness; treatment may help lower your risk of severe illness.
Glow Dance - January 22, 2025 - 7 pm

Students must be dropped off at Door #10 (tennis court side). At the end of the event, parents/guardians need to park and enter the school building at Door #10 to pick up their child. No students will be permitted to walk home.

Tardies to School
We are starting to see an uptick in the number of students who arrive late to school. As we are almost halfway through the current school year, it is worth reiterating the need for students to arrive to school on time. Below is an excerpt from the 2025-2026 Student Handbook, which addresses Tardies to School.
Students are expected to arrive to school on time. Students are tardy to school if they arrive after their first class has begun. Students will report to the Main Office and sign in to the turnstile for a late pass.
The following is an explanation of tardy to absence coding:
· Three unexcused tardies per trimester=one (1) day’s absence
Students may accumulate four unexcused tardies per trimester without incurring a disciplinary sanction. For each trimester, beginning with the fifth unexcused tardy, students will receive a disciplinary consequence for each tardy.
Students who are chronically tardy may expect the following:
· Required parent conference
· Additional discipline sanctions for willful disobedience
Tardiness to school may cause students to lose attendance credit for one or more classes. Class cuts/truancy issues may also cause a student to lose credit in their classes or be removed from their assigned program of study.
