Student Wellbeing Index for Grades 3-8
As part of our work to capture additional funding to maintain the quality counseling supports occurring in our schools through the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), we will be asking for students in grades 3-8 to take a strengths-based screener known as the Wellbeing Index. The screener will provide very basic information that gives us the ability to bill for services that are occurring in our schools.
Here is a link to the 3rd-5th grade screener
Here is a link to the middle school screener
The screener will be administered beginning on October 19th. Please complete this form if you would like to opt your student out of the survey.

No Place for Hate Assembly
Our students participated in a No Place for Hate assembly focused on the impact of words and actions, including hate speech, prejudice, and discrimination. Students were encouraged to be upstanders by speaking up, getting help, and supporting others when something is not right.
Please help us reinforce this message at home by talking with your student about using respectful language, standing up for others, and treating everyone with dignity. Our goal is to ensure that every student feels safe, respected, and valued at MVMS.
Weekly Recap
ASB brought back our Fun Fridays with the first Knock the Can event! Students had a blast, and we are so excited to have these fun activities back. A huge thank you to our amazing ASB students for all their hard work in creating fun experiences for our school community!

Guidelines for Success
Our three school-wide expectations are BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, and BE SAFE. Responding appropriately to negative behavior is based on our School Wide Positive and Progressive Behavior Plan. Click on the link below for the plan of progressive discipline strategies in place at MVMS.
- Be Responsible – Take ownership of your behavior and choices. Make positive choices that will benefit them and their learning.
- Be Respectful – Speak and act appropriately toward ALL staff members, this includes guests and substitutes. Treat each other and staff with kindness and politeness.
- Be Safe – Follow directions to maintain a positive and safe school environment. Keep our school a positive and safe place for everyone.
No Place for Hate
Our expectation is simple: Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe. We are a No Place For Hate campus. We ask our students to speak up when they hear hurtful language, support those who are targeted, and choose words that contribute to a welcoming school community.
Together, we can ensure that Monte Vista truly is a place where every student feels safe, supported, and valued.
Student/Parent/Guardian Handbook
Please take a few minutes to review our Student/Parent/Guardian Handbook with your student. The handbook includes important information about our campus, school procedures, and student expectations.
