A Note from your Principals

Happy FriYAY Wolves! We are at the end of another amazing week! We want to take a minute and say thank you so much for all of your support and collaboration so far this year! Our students are growing, learning, and exploring in such creative ways and are doing their best to always be treating one another with kindness and respect. We cannot wait to see all the amazing things they continue to do this year and throughout the rest of their educational career.

🍬 Candy Drive 🍬 🍬 Candy Drive 🍬

Which Homeroom Will Win?

Today and running through October 24th, we will be holding a candy drive. Families send in bags of candy to donate for the event. The homeroom that collects the most candy will win an ice cream party. If students bring candy, be sure that their name or class/section is written on the bag and it can be sent to Ms. Malinda in the front office.

πŸŽ’ Half Day Wednesday 10/22πŸŽ’ πŸŽ’ Half Day Wednesday 10/22πŸŽ’

Dismissal is at 12:30

Just a reminder that Wednesday 9/17 is a half day for students! Dismissal will be at 12:30 and there will be no after school program. Please make sure your student knows how they are going home for the half day. If there is a change to the way your student is going home it needs to be made through the front office by 10am. We will not be accepting any Parent Square messages as a change in dismissal. Also a reminder that if a student gets dismissed before 12:30 on the half day they will be marked absent for the entire day. Please make sure you are on time to pick up your students as staff has meetings right after dismissal that they must attend.

1-3 Are Looking Cozy

This week, Operation Warm donated brand new winter coats to all of the students in grades 1-3. Students got to come to the lobby and shop for a coat with the help of some of our amazing staff and volunteers. We were able to give out over 300 coats to our students and help ensure a warm and cozy fall and winter season! Thanks to Mrs Meunier and Operation Warm for this amazing experience!

KGA is Mastering Emotions

This week, Ms. Bright and KGA have been working with Kimochis to understand their feelings. They had so much fun decorating monsters to show different feelings and emotions. Great work KGA!

Can't Stop Celebrating The Great Things Happening!

One of our favorite things to do every week is celebrate students who are being a W.O.L.F (Working Responsibly, Owning Our Choices, Loving Learning, Friendship). The overflow of WOLF notes that our students are earning is beyond fascinating and they are putting so much effort into making sure they are being role models within CCSL Elementary!

A Few Reminders to Help Keep Everyone Safe

Our goal is to always make sure dismissal runs smoothly and safely.

  • ALL Parent Pickup cars should be in the pickup lane (Right-hand drive, closest to the school)
  • There should be no cars in the bus lane or parked in parking spots to pick up students
  • All cars must pull up to the sidewalk to get students. Students will not be allowed to cross into traffic.
  • All parents should remain in their cars to keep the flow of traffic moving
  • Students will enter cars through the rear passenger side door.

If you need to change how your student is going home for a day, it needs to go through the front office by 2:00!

Students will also not be able to be dismissed after 3:00. If you need to pull your kiddo out early for an appointment please make sure it is before 3:00 and that the front office is notified earlier in the day.

This year we will be shifting to Standards Based Report Cards

A new standards-based report card format will be introduced in grades K-4 in the 2025-2026 school year. While parents and students in grades K-4 will continue to view report cards through Power School, the format will look different. Students in grades 3-4 will continue to receive a letter grade for each subject, but will also be assessed using state standards for each subject area, including specials. Kindergarteners will continue to be assessed using only standards. Teachers will assess students using the state standards to insure clarity and consistency in expectations across classroom and grade levels. The standards-based design will allow more detailed feedback aligned with specific learning goals for each of the subjects, thereby aiding parents, students, teachers and administrators to focus on growth and areas needing additional support.
