Wrestling at Saginaw County Tournament on 11/9
Gabe Weigandt - 2nd place, Roscoe Barkholtz - 2nd place, Wyatt Wenzel - 3rd place, Cade Sauer - 5th place, Tatum Schmidt - 5th place and Corbin Rugenstein 6th place.
Every week I get more proud of my wrestlers. Hunter got his first win by a pin. Gabe lost by points. Roscoe unfortunately got pinned quick. Wyatt & Tatum were not tired for their last match and pinned their opponent. We are wrestling against Bridgeport & John Glenn this Tuesday and an individual tournament this Saturday at Ithaca.
Wrestling at Bridgeport on 11/12
Wyatt Wenzel 2-0 w/2 pins, Braxton Darland 2-0 w/2 Tech Fall, Andrew Reid 1-0 w/pin, Matt Weigandt 1-0 w/pin, Gabe Weigandt, Cade Sauer, Corbin Rugenstein and Grey Hendrickson 1-1 w/pin.
Hemlock beat Bridgeport 23-9 & John Glenn 35-12. The team wrestled great. Everyone had at least one pin other than Braxton who tech falls his opponent (15 pts or more). Wrestlers, conditioning is high. They don't wanna stop, which is great. Small details for them to get better every week. We are wrestling this Saturday 11/16 at Ithaca Individual Tournament. Come be a fan and motivate the wrestlers.
8th Grade vs Nouvel on 11/13
The B team fell short both games, but played exceptionally well and worked hard as a team. The A team battled hard and came out winning both matches 25-23 & 26-24. Hope Jimenez lead with 11 points, 2 of which were aces. Kinley Gerow had 11 points with 4 aces and Mallory Bierman had 10 points. Sage Lavigne and Maylin Buckley were powerhouses at the net with Sage having 6 kills and Mailyn having 5 kills. Hope Jimenez and Mallory Bierman both had multiple assists. Please come cheer on the girls as they battle Nouvel again Monday, November 18 at Nouvel.
