A Message from the Principal
Today we had our 1st Class Meeting of the year with our 7th-grade Class. To recap, in case you missed the newsletter, we talked about the 8th-grade Class Meeting. This will be something each grade level will get to do monthly to build a community amongst themselves.
Here is a little information about class meetings-
The purpose of class meetings is to build class culture by celebrating students, listening to needs and feedback, and creating time to connect and have fun together.
Class meetings create a safe, open, and supportive environment where students feel connected to their peers and teacher, fostering a strong sense of community and shared responsibility for their classroom.
Foster a Democratic Environment:
Class meetings give students a voice and empower them to take ownership of their learning environment by participating in discussions and problem-solving as a class.
Improve Behavior and Ownership:
By collectively addressing challenges and developing solutions, students are more likely to take responsibility for their actions and contribute positively to the school/class culture.
Strengthen Relationships:
These meetings provide opportunities for students and teachers to get to know each other, build trust, and establish positive relationships, which are essential for a productive learning environment.

Students signed up to participate in the Class Meeting Games- They competed in Duck Battle, where they had to walk around balancing a duck on the top of their hand and try to knock off the other players' ducks without losing theirs in the process.
They also played a Cup Color game. They were given four different colored cups, and needed to not grab the color of the cup that was called, for example, if they grabbed green when green was called, they were out.
CharacterStrong Awards
7th Graders- Jordan and Kameron
Each month, we will celebrate students from every grade who demonstrate the character qualities highlighted in our CharacterStrong lessons. These students are nominated by teachers and staff, recognized in front of their grade-level peers and teachers, and awarded “Tiger Tokens” (100 PBIS points). This award honors students who consistently model positive character and help make our school a better place. Among the many values emphasized in CharacterStrong are Commitment, Courage, Empathy, Respect, Inclusion, Humility, and Kindness.
Students are also given the opportunity to give a shout-out to a peer and recognize them for always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.

Events Expectations
We are as excited as everyone else to go to the first home high school football game of the season! Just a reminder of what the rules are for any middle school students who attend tonight. Students are expected to remain in the stands during the game to support our team and enjoy the event together. Please remember that the end zone area is off-limits to students. Staying in the stands helps us keep everyone safe and ensures the focus stays on the game. I'll be looking for the students who show the most school spirit. GO TIGERS!
Here to Help- Supporting student Success with Ms. Andrews
This week in CharacterStrong, our 6th-8th-grade students were introduced to the CharacterDare process. Each week, students will receive a new CharacterDare. These are simple, meaningful challenges that encourage them to put values and character into action. At the start of each lesson, students review the previous week’s challenge and are introduced to a new one. All grade levels will work on the same challenge each week, creating a shared experience across our school community.
This week’s CharacterDare is: “Go out of your way to start a conversation with someone.”
Meanwhile, our 5th graders are continuing their focus on the character trait of respect, now in their third week of exploring what it looks like in everyday life.
After School Assistance Program
ASAP is available Monday-Thursday when school is in session from 3:30-4:30 pm. This will be held in Mrs. Kahler's room, and is a great opportunity for students to get help and support on any of their missing work.
