District Lunch Rule
Students may get a milk when bringing their own lunch. These are the two ways to allow for them to get a milk: 1-Have money in their lunch account. Email kaye.key@vpsb.net if you have any questions about student lunch accounts. It costs 50 cents per milk. 2-Have no money in lunch account, then take an entire lunch plate with a milk. Students do not need to eat what's on the lunch plate if they choose not to, but can if they wish to in addition to the lunch they have brought to school.

POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTION SUPPORT – PBIS
IBES has adopted a PBIS plan. PBIS is a proactive systems approach to preventing and responding to classroom and school discipline problems. This process focuses on improving schools’ positive behavior expectations for all students, not solely the children with behavioral and emotional challenges. Emphasis is directed toward developing and maintaining a safe learning environment where teachers can teach and students can learn.
All teachers will have a classroom plan that assigns consequences for minor behavior infractions. If a student commits a serious offense or repeatedly misbehaves or causes a class disruption, that student will receive an office referral and will be sent directly to the principal.
Our school- wide expectations are:
Indian Bayou Elementary Home of the Indians Where We Are One T.R.I.B.E.
Trustworthy, Respectful, Involved, Brave, Encouraging
If your child’s behavior warrants more than one minor infraction and/or a referral to the office, he/she will be removed from the PBIS Reward list for that 9 weeks. If your child’s behavior warrants more than one minor infraction for the entire school year and/or a major office referral to the office he/she will be removed from the PBIS Reward end-of-year event.
P.B.I.S. flyer will go home Wednesday with test papers. Please remind students daily of expectations so they may earn Indian Indian Bucks daily, and Golden Feathers as a class when they are caught being good as a group. Students also earn Positive Office Referrals for doing Extra Special Things:) Positive Office Referrals will be announced on Fridays and posted on our Official Indian Bayou Elementary Facebook Page.
