A Message from Dr. Hicks A Message from Dr. Hicks

Cougar Nation,

It's hard to believe we are two weeks away from spring break. Let's hope Mother Nature cooperates, and we can start to see those beautiful Texas bluebonnets bloom.

Please join us in welcoming Rosena Malone as the interim Principal at Igo Elementary. Rosena has 39 years of experience in education. You can read more about her below. We're excited to have her on board while Principal Adrienne Rodriguez is out on maternity leave. She and her husband, John, will welcome their baby girl around March 15.

This Thursday, March 3, we are hosting a Jarrell ISD job fair in the cafeteria at Igo Elementary. As a rapid growth community, we are starting to recruit early for the best candidates to join our growing district. Please share the news about our job fair. Here's a link to our current positions.

Finally, it's Read Across America Week. This week is an excellent reminder of how essential reading is to learn, grow, and let your imagination run. So join us in celebrating reading by encouraging your children to curl up with a good book.

Your proud superintendent,

Toni Hicks, Ed.D

Interim Elementary Principal Announced at Igo Elementary

Superintendent Dr. Toni Hicks announced Rosena Malone as the interim principal of Igo Elementary, while Principal Adrienne Rodriguez is out on maternity leave.

"Ms. Malone is an exemplary educator with 39 years of experience in the central Texas area. We warmly welcome Ms. Malone and look forward to her joining the Igo Elementary family," said Superintendent Toni Hicks.

Rosena Malone is a retired educator who served as a middle school teacher for 15 years and 23 years as an administrator in Temple ISD, Austin ISD, Round Rock ISD. Ms. Malone also served as the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools in Round Rock ISD. Before becoming an educational professional, she worked as a print journalist.

"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Igo Elementary as the interim principal," Ms. Malone said. "I look forward to putting my skills to use at Igo. I am committed to nurturing and developing students and supporting teachers daily."

Ms. Malone is a mother of five kids and has eight grandchildren. She counts her family, faith, and career in education as her most significant accomplishments.

"I can rest easy on maternity leave knowing Ms. Malone will lead our campus with passion and excitement. The students and staff at Igo Elementary are in good hands with Rosena Malone," said Igo Principal Adrienne Rodriguez.
