CSD Weekly Update
Chromebook TikTok Challenge
The Office of Technology is aware of the current TikTok challenge that encourages students to place items into the various ports of their Chromebooks, leading to internal damage and, in some cases, fires. Please note that CSD has a zero tolerance policy for such intentional damage to district property as outlined in our Student/ Family 1:1 Device Care & Responsibility guidelines (see Vandalism section) and our Student/ Family 1:1 Device Agreement (see item #10), both of which are housed under our Policy 815. Acceptable Use of Computer, Internet, and Electronic Resources. In brief, intentional damage to a district device is NOT covered under our optional accidental damage insurance.
Furthermore, please note that due to Chromebook shortages, students who intentionally damage a district device are not guaranteed to be outfitted with a loaner or replacement device. This can negatively impact students' ability to engage in class and complete schoolwork, which in turn can impact their grades. Should intentional damage to a district device lead to a larger school interruption, investigative action will be taken.
The Office of Technology encourages all students to continue to take good care of their Chromebooks through the end of the school year and into the summer.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
As we head into the weekend, and the end of Teacher Appreciation Week, we just wanted to take time to thank our amazing teachers for all that they do. From inspiring minds to lifting hearts, they go above and beyond every single day!
MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS
CSD Board to Appoint Dr. Abram Lucabaugh, Superintendent
May 8, 2025 - Doylestown PA: The Centennial School District Board of School Directors will vote on an employment agreement with Dr. Abram Lucabaugh to serve as their next Superintendent of Schools at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The Board will hold a Community Forum to introduce Dr. Lucabaugh on Thursday, May 22, at Log College Middle School Auditorium located at 730 N. Norristown Rd., Warminster, PA 18974.
About Abram Lucabaugh, Ed. D.
Throughout his 27 years in education, Dr. Abram Lucabaugh has focused on creating
exceptional educational outcomes for students. He began his career as a high school English
teacher and middle school assistant principal in the Hatboro-Horsham School District before
moving to the Central Bucks School District as a middle and high school assistant principal.
From 2007 to 2018, Dr. Lucabaugh served as the principal of Central Bucks High School East,
before transitioning to the role of assistant superintendent of secondary education, and most recently, superintendent of the Central Bucks School District. Throughout his career, Dr.
Lucabaugh has emphasized creating environments for students to thrive academically and
interpersonally, championing access, opportunity and choice.
Statement from Mrs. Mary Alice Brancato, President of the Centennial Board of School Directors
“The Board is very excited and pleased to introduce Dr. Lucabaugh to our Centennial
community. His experience, plans, and ideas elevated him to the top of the many candidates
the Board reviewed and interviewed. We are truly looking forward to Dr. Lucabaugh’s
leadership, knowledge, and commitment to our students. We are excited to welcome Dr.
Lucabaugh and to partner with him as we continue working together on behalf of our students
and staff.”
Statement from Dr. Lucabaugh
The opportunity to serve as your next superintendent in Centennial is a privilege and an honor, and I would like to thank the Centennial Board of School Directors for their faith in me. We have important work ahead of us, and I’m confident that together, we can build an environment of excellence where every student has access, opportunity and choice to become the best version of themselves.
Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education in the lives of students. I want every one of our students in Centennial to discover their potential and rise far beyond what they thought possible. I want our families to know our schools are places of safety, support, and growth, and that their children are leaving our schools ready to make a difference in a world that needs them. Finally, I want our community to be proud of our school district, and believe in our teachers, our staff, and our administration as they work to make the lives and experiences of
our students extraordinary.
To ensure every child receives the education they deserve, I am asking for your help. In the
months ahead, I will host forums with the purpose of listening intently, learning your priorities,
and engaging in honest conversations. I want to know what is important to our students, our
families, our employees, and our community. I want to know what we are doing well, where we
can grow, and what we must consider as we move forward. Most importantly, I want to get to
know as many of you as possible, hear your stories, and build the relationships that will lead to
positive outcomes for the young men and women we serve. With a shared commitment to do whatever it takes to cause learning, anything is possible. I’m excited to begin working with you and for you to empower students in Centennial, and I look forward to meeting all of you.
Community Forum
The Centennial School District Board of School Directors (the Board) invites all community
members to attend a Community Forum introducing Dr. Lucabaugh on Thursday, May 22,
2025, beginning with a student showcase at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Log College Middle
School located at 730 N. Norristown Rd., Warminster, PA 18974. In addition to introductory remarks from Dr. Lucabaugh and student performances, the Community Forum will have a question-and-answer period facilitated by Dr. Mark Hoffman, Executive Director of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU). The Board welcomes input from district stakeholders on which themes should be covered in the questions presented to Dr. Lucabaugh. Community members are invited to submit up to two (2) questions for consideration through the following survey: https://bucksiu.net/CSD_CommunityForum2025. Questions may be submitted up until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Submitted questions will be consolidated by common themes by the facilitator to allow for Dr. Lucabaugh to address the maximum number of topics possible during this Community Forum. The format for the evening does not provide an opportunity for questions or comments from the audience during the forum itself. Instead, all questions must be submitted in advance using the link above. Dr. Lucabaugh will receive a copy of all submitted questions. The Board has chosen this format to ensure that the maximum number of questions can be asked by the moderator in the time allotted.
Background on the Superintendent Search Process
The Board began their search process in January 2025, engaging the Bucks IU to serve as its
search consultant. On behalf of the Board, the Bucks IU conducted vision exercises with
various Board-selected stakeholder groups to understand the key traits and characteristics
they were looking for in their next Superintendent. In addition, the Bucks IU also distributed a
community survey from February 17, 2025, through February 28, 2025, to identify the
community’s opinions and priorities. More than 254 parents, guardians, taxpayers, students,
staff, and other community members responded to the survey, offering feedback on the ideal
characteristics and attributes of the future superintendent. The survey also captured what the
community believes to be the district’s priorities for the immediate and long-term future. The
survey results were shared with the community on the district website and through district
communication channels.
As the search consultant, the Bucks IU facilitated a comprehensive search process, actively
recruiting qualified candidates and advertising the position in local, regional, state, and national
publications. The position was advertised from March 5, 2025, through March 23, 2025. Thirty-
two candidates applied for the position hailing not only from Pennsylvania but also Arizona,
Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Virgina, and Wisconsin. All decisions relating to interviews and candidate selection rested solely with the Centennial Board of School Directors. The Board thoroughly reviewed all the candidate applications and selected seven applicants to move forward to a first round of interviews. Following these initial interviews, the Board invited three applicants back for a second, increasingly rigorous round of questioning which also required the candidates to complete writing exercises and prepare presentations relevant to district priorities. Key members of the staff and community were also invited to a “Meet and Greet” session with Dr. Lucabaugh as well. A majority of the Board agreed to authorize the district’s solicitor to negotiate an employment agreement with Dr. Lucabaugh to serve as the district’s next superintendent.

Feedback Requested: 2026-2029 Comprehensive Plan
Dear Centennial Parents, Guardians, Families, Community, Faculty, Staff, and Students,
Every three years, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires school districts to complete and update their Comprehensive Plan —a roadmap that guides our goals, strategies, and priorities across academics, operations, and community engagement. For a more detailed description of what is included in the plan, please visit Comprehensive Planning | Department of Education | Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Since 2023, we have successfully implemented our 2023-2026 Comprehensive Plan Priorities, Goals, and Action Steps at the central office, building, and classroom levels. This successful implementation has led our district to achieve 100% of all students meeting or exceeding the standard for growth on PVAAS across grade-level growth measures. This includes 100% of students with GIEPs, 93% of English Learners, 87% of Economically Disadvantaged and Lowest Performing 33% of students, and 80% of students with IEPs. For a full look at our data, please visit our November 26, 2024, Committee of the Whole Board Meeting.
To keep in alignment with the Board-approved Centennial School District Mission, Vision, Beliefs, Values, Goals, we are shifting our 2026-2029 Comprehensive Plan Priorities to Achievement and Growth | Access and Engagement.
As we work with our Comprehensive Planning Steering Committee, composed of faculty, staff, administration, students, parents, community members, and community partners, to finalize our plan for the next three years, your voice matters! This short survey is an opportunity for all stakeholders to share feedback, highlight needs, and help ensure our schools are moving in the right direction—together.
To best answer the questions in the short survey, please review the following Goals:
By the end of the 2025-2026 school year,
We will have demonstrated annual progress and growth in board-approved Excellence through Equity Quality Review conducted by the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
Centennial will have established and annually implemented identified equitable practices and action steps to engage our diverse stakeholder groups: Families (Parents, Guardians, Students), Community, and Faculty / Staff.
All schools will annually meet or exceed the statewide average(s) as outlined in the PA Future Ready Index
All schools will annually meet or exceed the statewide growth expectations as outlined in the PA Future Ready Index.

CSD K-12 Fine Arts Showcase Night
On Friday, May 2, 2025, Centennial Community members stepped into a vibrant world of innovation and artistry throughout William Tennent High School. The Centennial School District’s Fine and Culinary Arts Showcase, where creativity knows no bounds and talent shines bright, hosted over 2500 attendees filling the corridors. Families and friends gathered to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of kindergarten through twelfth-grade fine artists.
More than 30 culinary students volunteered their time to craft and share gourmet dishes, with not a bite left over. The Middle School FCS classes showed off their fiber arts accomplishments alongside fine art ceramics and sculptures. Every space was flooded with young artists proudly displaying their masterpieces alongside their countless admirers. “There’s mine” could almost be heard in unison, as young artists pointed to portraits, paintings and sculptures. The universal sense of accomplishment was palpable and inspiring.
A cornerstone of the event, the 32-strong senior wall exhibition, commanded attention with its impressive display of skill and creativity, offering a glimpse into the future of the artistic world. Meanwhile, the hundreds of William Tennent 9-12 grade artists showcased their upcoming brilliance, each piece telling a unique story and highlighting the insights of each artist.
The K-12 Fine Art and FCS teachers could not be more proud of the efforts and accomplishments of all our students. Thank you to all who joined us in the celebration and for your continued support of the arts.
Willow Dale Drama Club Makes a Splash!
The Willow Dale Drama Club dove under the sea and into our hearts with their spectacular, sold-out production of The Little Mermaid Jr.! With over 75 enthusiastic student performers and crew members, this year’s show was nothing short of magical. Audiences packed the house for performances on Friday afternoon, Friday evening, and Saturday afternoon, enchanted by the colorful costumes, catchy songs, and heartfelt performances. From Ariel’s soaring solos to the energetic ensemble numbers, the students brought the classic story to life with charm, humor, and talent beyond their years. A standing ovation goes to our dedicated staff, whose countless hours of rehearsal, set-building, costume-making, and encouragement made this production possible. Their passion and guidance helped each child shine on stage and behind the scenes. We are incredibly proud of our young performers and grateful to everyone who supported this unforgettable journey under the sea. Bravo, Drama Club—you truly made a splash!
