Principal's Weekly Update
Week of September 8-12
Administrator's Message 🐾
Dear Wildcat Families,
This upcoming week, our school counselor and administration will be visiting 6th grade classes to discuss conflict resolution and the tools and supports available to them on campus.
As part of our ongoing commitment to support students' social and emotional growth, we encourage you to have open conversations with your middle schooler about handling conflict and peer pressure. These are key areas where guidance at home and school can make a lasting impact.
Please take a few moments this week to check in with your child—ask how they navigate disagreements with friends, and what they do when they feel pressured to act against their values. Your support and perspective are powerful tools in helping them build confidence, resilience, and strong decision-making skills.
Thank you for partnering with us in helping our students grow into thoughtful, respectful, and responsible individuals.
-Ms. Rivera & Ms. Rockwell

Cat Corner - Donations Needed!
Our student store called the "Cat Corner" is returning! The store will be open once a month for students to purchase various items using their PBIS ROAR points. We will be open for the first time on Tuesday, September 30th. We are looking for donations to get out store up and running. If you are able to donate treats, or small toys that would be greatly appreciated. You can drop off the donations to the front office. Please just mark them for Cat Corner.
GATE Testing/Screening Referrals
GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) testing for the 2025–2026 school year will take place November 5–14, 2025.
2nd Grade: All 2nd grade students will be screened for GATE through the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability test unless families return an opt-out letter (mailed mid-September, due back by October 24).
Grades 3–7: Students may be tested again if referred by a parent/guardian. To request GATE screening for your student through the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test, please complete the GATE Test Referral Form by October 10. If your student is referred by a teacher or staff member, you will also receive an opt-out letter. Please return the form to your child’s school only if you do not want your student to be tested.
