MDE Parent & Family Engagement Plan: 2026-2027
Dear Families,
At Mike Davis Elementary, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school help students achieve their greatest success. As a Title I school, we are committed to providing meaningful opportunities for families to be involved in their child's education.
How Families Can Be Involved
Families are encouraged to participate in:
- School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings
- Literacy and Math family events
- Student-Led Conferences
- Parent-teacher conferences
- Surveys that provide input on school programs and the use of Title I funds
Parents will have opportunities to share feedback and help guide decisions that support student achievement.
Family Events Planned for This Year
Throughout the school year, families will be invited to attend:
- Back-to-School Community Events
- Annual Title I Meeting
- Student-Led Conferences
- Literacy Night
- Books & Bagels/Math & Muffins events
- Kindergarten Round-Up and PreK Stars on Tour
These events are designed to strengthen home-school connections and provide families with strategies and activities to support learning at home.
Communication with Families
Mike Davis Elementary will communicate important school information through:
- Phone calls, texts, and emails
- School newsletters
- The school website
- Social media platforms
- Flyers sent home with students
Information will be provided in English, Spanish, and Creole whenever possible.
Supporting Student Success
Families will receive information about:
- Grade-level curriculum and standards
- Academic assessments and progress monitoring
- Student achievement expectations
- Resources to support learning at home
Teachers will regularly communicate with families and encourage participation in conferences and school events.
Ensuring Accessibility for All Families
Mike Davis Elementary is committed to ensuring all families can participate in school activities. Translation services and accommodations will be available for families with limited English proficiency or other special needs.
