Converse ES All Stars: Growing Together, Achieving More!
Week of January 19, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Converse ES All-Star Community,
As we reach the halfway point of the school year, I want to extend my gratitude to all of our families for your ongoing support and partnership. With the second semester underway, we need our students prepared and ready to do their very best every day. Please help by ensuring students are getting plenty of rest with early bedtimes, reading daily at home, and arriving to school on time. Students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 7:30 AM so they can start their day successfully.
As a reminder, the campus will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 20.
Your continued support makes such a meaningful difference, and together we can help our All Stars finish the year strong.
Converse ES All Stars: Growing Together, Achieving More.
Sincerely,
Miriam Huerta
Converse ES Principal

Restorative Corner
Honor Dr. King with Restorative Practices
You can practice the spirit of Dr. King’s work and Restorative Circles at home with these simple prompts:
"What is one way you used your voice to help someone today?"
"If you had a disagreement with a friend, what could you do to 'make it right' instead of just staying angry?"
"What does 'community' mean to you?"
We are proud to partner with you in raising the next generation of peacemakers and leaders. Thank you for supporting our efforts to build a school culture where everyone belongs.
Let's keep the spirit of Dr. King alive with intentionally building community!

Character Trait Of The Month
Throughout the year, staff will be recognizing students who demonstrate different character traits each month. At the end of each month, teachers will select one student from their class who has best exemplified that month's trait to be celebrated and awarded a certificate in recognition of their character.
January's Character Trait: Integrity
Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. It includes being honest, taking responsibility for actions, keeping promises, and treating others fairly.
An Activity Parents Can Do at Home to Promote Integrity
During a car ride or dinner, ask these "What would you do?" questions:
"The person at the drive-thru gave us an extra order of fries by mistake. Do we keep them or tell them?"
"You’re playing a video game and you find a glitch that lets you cheat to win. Do you use it?"
"You accidentally scratched the paint on your bike. If you don't tell anyone, they might think it was already there. What do you do?"
Insight for Parents: Children learn integrity by watching you. If you tell a "white lie" to get out of a social commitment, they learn that honesty is optional. Try to model "Verbal Integrity" by saying, "I made a mistake and I need to fix it."
