Low Ash Primary
Weekly round up
30.1.26
I hope you’re all keeping well and have managed to dodge at least some of the rain this week! School has been its usual lively mix of learning, the occasional lost glove and coat— thank you, as always, for helping us reunite children with their belongings by naming their clothing. It’s been lovely to see the children so engaged, whether they’ve been tackling new topics in class or simply enjoying time with their friends.
As we head into another busy week, I wanted to share a few updates and celebrations from around school. There’s lots happening, and as ever, we’re grateful for your continued support — it really does make such a difference to the children and to our whole school community.

Attendance update
Attendance rewards:
Thank you for your support with our focus on improving attendance.
Well done to the 450 children who had 100% attendance this week. This is the best we have had this term! Once again, two lucky winners will have their names drawn out of a hat and take home a £5 Amazon voucher.
This week's school attendance is: 95.8%
This year's attendance to date is 95.1%.
Early Years & KS1 class of the week is Reception Base 1 with 97.9%.
KS2 classes of the week are 3B & 5H with 98.6%.
A reminder that, as a school, we are aiming for no less than 96% attendance.
School Car Park
A reminder that, after half term, we will be manning the school car park/ closing the school gates to the car park at various points. As stated last week, there was a 'near miss' in the car park the week before last which means we have a legal duty to put further measures in place to ensure everyone's safety.
If you feel you are eligible for a school car park parking pass, the deadline to respond to the school ping which was sent about this is Friday 6th February. After half term, you will only be able to enter the school car park if you hold a Low Ash parking pass (this includes both before and after school and for pupils arriving late / being collected early.)
We are reminding you of this again so you have time to consider alternatives should you frequently use the school staff car park . We will also be preventing taxis from coming into the car park.
Thank you for your support in this.

A further event is being hed at Keighley Market - a free, fun family workshop making Valentine planted gifts.
Mobile Phones
We’d like to remind families of our approach to mobile phones in school. As you might know, the government has recently strengthened its guidance on phone‑free school environments, and we’re committed to keeping our classrooms focused, calm and distraction‑free. If your child needs to bring a phone for safety when travelling to and from school, it should remain switched off and be handed in to be stored safely in the school office during the school day. This helps us maintain a positive learning atmosphere and ensures that all children feel safe and ready to learn. Thank you for your support in keeping our school a phone‑free space.
Sporting update
Well done to the Under 11s Boys'' Bench Ball team this week. They took part in the Hanson Delta Ball competition. The boys played lots of games and had a great time.
Online Safety Update - Parental Controls
Instead of thinking about parental controls as one big switch, it can help to think in layers, adding the right support around your child as they grow. You don’t need to do everything at once. Start with the basics, add more when it feels right, and change things as your child becomes more confident online. Even one layer makes a difference. Hopefully the linked guide below will help you with this.
A reminder that all of our guides can be found on the online safety page of the website.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we will see you all next week..
