NEW JIM WEISS RECORDING!!!!!
We are HUGE Jim Weiss fans in our house! SO VERY EXCITED to see he has a new recording and such a fascinating subject!!!
The Newest Jim Weiss Recording: "Constellations and Their Myths: The Stories Behind Our Stars
Master Storyteller, Jim Weiss takes listeners on a thrilling journey through the night sky, shaaring the fascinating stories behind Orion, Taurus, and other sparkling constellations.
For thousands of years, cultures around the world have told stories about the stars–tales of brave heroes, mysterious monsters, faithful friends, and epic journeys.
From the Navajo to the Australian Aborigines, and from the cave paintings of Lascaux to the myths of ancient Greece, the pictures formed by the stars have helped us know when to plant crops, guided us across oceans, and reminded us who we are–or who we could be.
In this new recording, storyteller Jim Weiss brings the stories of the most famous constellations to a new generation.
INCLUDES:
Orion
The Pleiades (the Seven Sisters)
Scorpio the Scorpion
Taurus the Bull
Pegasus the Winged Horse

BRAND NEW BOOK FROM ARIANE AND TODD ERICKSON!!!!!
Freya the Friendly is excited to join her father's Viking crew as they set sail for Scotland. But her dad has pretty unfriendly rules: yell, growl, and grab what you want, Vikings don't dance, and when you hear bagpipes - make a face and cover your ears!
To be true to her name, Freya must make a choice. Can she persuade her crewmates to be nice, kick up their heels, and play those dreadful pipes - in pursuit of friendship, fun, and riches?
Ariane and Todd Erickson are celebrating the debut of their second picture book, Freya Takes Charge, which is on sale now through Norse Gael Books and in bookstores on January 7, 2025. Freya celebrates girl power while teaching young readers to try new things, including Scottish haggis and bagpipe playing - two important life experiences. Cover your ears for this noisy Viking adventure!

BOOK TALKS (for adults or kids), CURRICULUM CONSULTING (finding books that fit), etc.
Hey all!!
Recently I have given Book Talks to students and parents that can focus on Engaging Reluctant Readers, Diversify Your (home or school) Bookshelves, and Great and Engaging Books (for various ages/grades). They've been well received and participants leave with TONS of information (and quite a few win prizes). I do these in schools or libraries, but would love to be hired by companies as a 'Perk' for their employees who have children in their lives. So, using my 'Social Capital' (that's you all) to spread the word.
I also work with teachers to help find great books that fit (and expand) the curriculum (otherwise known as my idea of a good time).
Please feel free to spread the word and send people my way: sharonlevin @ mindspring.com
We now return to our regular programming.
