The Week Ahead 4/20 - 24, 2020
Sacajawea Middle School
Launching Remote Learning
We have been busy working on our transition to remote learning for our official launch on Monday, April 20! Your scholar can begin accessing Canvas on Monday for the week's content lessons and activities. They will also meet with their content teachers via zoom at the designated content time (see info and schedule below). Each Canvas page will have information about navigating lessons for students and families. Teachers will also share additional sessions outside of content time on their Canvas pages. We REALLY look forward to seeing our scholars. We miss being at school with your children and cannot wait to connect with everyone next week.
You will receive a Week Ahead email from me each week. You will also receive a week at-a-glance email from all of your scholar's teachers. Do not hesistate to reach out to me or any other Sacajawea Staff member if you have any questions.
Our building is closed, but school is not!! You can probably hear our broken hearts all over the community because we want nothing more than to get back to business as usual. Until then, all of us at Sacajawea will continue to support you. We are sending virtual hugs as we move into a new phase of normal.
Sincerely,
Dominique Dennis

College Bound Scholarship Information for 7th and 8th grade scholars!
College Bound Scholarship information for our 7th and 8th grade students/families.
Dear Students/Parents/Guardians,
Some of you may have recently received letters mailed to you from the College Bound Scholarship program in Olympia, WA.
The College Bound Scholarship is an early commitment of state financial aid to eligible students who complete the application in middle school, fulfill the scholarship pledge, and meet income requirements to apply for this scholarship. For more information about the College Bound Scholarship, you can visit www.collegebound.wa.gov.
If you received one of these letters you will want to review that carefully and send the application back to the College Bound Scholarship office. Be sure to provide all required field(s) on the form and double check that both you and your student sign the back side of the form. If any information is missing, the application will not be able to be completed and you will have to do the form again. You can then return the form to the address below. Note that the address will also be listed on the back of the form.

This is a wonderful opportunity for many of our students. If you have any questions or need assistance please feel free to reach out to me OR, email the College Bound office directly (collegebound@wsac.wa.gov). Email is the best way to reach the College Bound office at this time. If that is not an option, you can leave a voicemail for one of their staff members at 888-535-0747 (option 1) and someone will get back to you.
If you find it easier to sign, scan, and email me your completed form I will be happy to send that onto the College Bound Scholarship office for you. Another option is to take a photo of your signed form, front and back, and email to one of us! We can submit for you!
