4th Quarter is Moving Along!

There are less than 10 weeks in the 2022-2023 school year and it will be busy! This past week was the NYS ELA Testing and next week is the NYS Math Testing on 5/2 and 5/3. We had great performances by RMS Students in "Les Misérables" this past weekend and this week is our 8th Grade Trip to Washington D.C (Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Twitter for updates and pictures! Our handle for both is @RomboutMS). Sprinkle in our field trips and other end of year activities, and these last few weeks will fly by.

The 5-week Marking Period is on Friday, May 12th. We encourage students who want to get some extra help from their teacher to see them in school and/or reach out via e-mail to help set up a time before or after school for additional support.

With the nice weather that we have been having, it has been great to see so many of our students enjoying the outdoors whether it be going out for class with their teacher, using our athletic facilities during PE class, the different activities at recess, or sitting under the shade sail and budding tree outside the cafeteria to eat lunch (pictured below). We are happy to be enjoying the outdoors again!

Have a great Monday!

It was great to see all of the hard work pay off into the plays over the weekend. The play, the set, the music...everything was amazing! We are proud of you!

From Coach Guillet:

Several RMS student-athletes continue to play a big role for the Beacon JV baseball team. Naim Dika, Parker White, and Elijah Eppsare part of the 14 player squad.

Elijah is the starting catcher. He excels at blocking pitches in the dirt and throwing out runners trying to steal. He is the leader on the field, calling pitches, pickoffs, and cut plays. He is also contributing offensively, and has a double and triple to his credit, along with 5 stolen bases.

Parker White has been seeing time at first base and the mound. He excels at getting on base, as he has a very good eye at the plate. His .549 on base percentage is the 2nd highest on the team. He has also gotten his first few of many future high school hits.

Naim Dika has played all over the field. He's logged innings on the mound, at 2nd, shortstop, 3rd and left field. Naim has contributed offensively as well, and is great at making solid contact with the ball even when behind in the count. He also has his first 5 of many high school hits.

All 3 are dedicated team players that are able to balance their academics with their sports. They work hard and are an integral part of our 6-3 team (as of 4/19/23)

Closet Clean Out for the 8th Grade Dance

Please consider donating any formal attire (dresses, skirts, polos, dress pants, etc.) to the Kiosk for our 8th graders! We ask that items be washed before donating, as students will be given the opportunity to "shop" these clothes during their lunch period before the semi-formal dance on Friday, June 9th. Thank you for your support!

USAgain Bins

If you find yourself Spring Cleaning and have any of the items found on the photo below, please place them in our USAgain Bins located in the parking lot!

To help, save any clothing items, shoes, linens or other textiles and drop them off in our bins. Besides keeping clothes out of landfills, every time we fill up a bin: the benefits are two-fold. First, our RMS Environmental Club receives funds to use for our club. Also, USAgain plants a tree. Clean out those closets and bring any unwanted items to our USAgain bin!
