A Message from the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
June is a special time of year. It seems like months ago, we created the plans for the end of the year events but it truly is incredible when you see those plans come to life. As June is the culmination of the school year, it's also a time of reflection hosting all the wonderful springtime events that adds to the amazing opportunities we provide for our students as well as preparing for the next school year. As we enter this busy time of year, I want to express my gratitude to our incredible staff and our fantastic parent volunteers for making it all possible.
- Incoming Kindergarten children and families had their screenings, the WECC event "Kindergarten Here I Come" and a special info night at Academy with our amazing K team, myself and the Academy Ambassadors (who led the tours). We'll be ready for them to join the Academy family in the fall.
- On the other side of the school timeline, this past Thursday, our Seniors came home to a special Walk of Honor. We are so proud of all the hard work our seniors have done and wish them the very best as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
- 1st Grade had a wonderful day at the Franklin Park Zoo this past Friday, seeing all the animals and sights. It looked like a beautiful day.
- For 3rd and 4th grade families, we will be collecting back the chromebooks and chargers from students in the same way we did grades 2 and 3 earlier in the year. Next year, devices will be back to the cart models. A flyer with more information will be coming home this week.
- Please remember to park safely if using Candia, Sutton, or Broad Street place. Our side streets are small, so please respect the posted signs and guidelines. It's important that we are good neighbors!
- Monday, our 5th graders will be walking over to Chapman Middle as part of the transition process. We are excited for them as they make way for their next step in their educational pathway.
- This Tuesday, we will be hosting the annual Track and Field meet for the elementary schools at the WHS track. We're hoping our 4th and 5th graders can bring home the trophy!
- Field Day is this upcoming Friday, June 12th-again thank you so much for all of the volunteers that make this event possible!!!
June is busy, filled with events. Thanks again for all of your help!
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins
Principal

Playground Etiquette
Playground Expectations
As the weather continues to improve, we are so excited to see our Academy families using the playground after school. Consistency is so important for our students that we find it important to share with you our playground expectations that we provide to the students during the school day. We hope this carries over to after school and beyond:
Everyone plays – Every game is open to whoever wants to play as long as those playing are being safe, respectful and responsible during the game. Including others are expected behaviors.
Play safe – Students must play so that they and others are not physically or emotionally hurt. Students must avoid rough play, unsafe play, and name-calling. Examples of unsafe play include jumping from the top of the play structure or sliding into someone still on or near the end of the slide.
Be Respectful- Students will listen and follow directions. They will be kind and provide other students an opportunity to use the play structure. Keep hands and feet to themselves. Please stay away and out of the woods and please remember to keep sticks and stones on the ground and away from the play areas. Ball play should be reserved to the baseball field and away from the play structures.
