Welcome back to another exciting school year at Jefferson Elementary!

We are thrilled to kick off the 2025-2026 school year with our new theme: “Game On with POWER!”

At Jefferson, we believe every child is a champion in the making, and this year we’re encouraging students to level up their learning, set goals, and work together as a team. Our "POWER" values will guide us all year long:

  • P — Perseverance: We’ll encourage students to keep trying and never give up, even when faced with challenges.

  • O — Opportunity: Emphasizing the importance of seizing opportunities for learning and growth.

  • W — Wisdom: Instilling values of knowledge and understanding in students as they navigate their educational journey.

  • E — Empathy: Fostering empathy and kindness towards others, creating a supportive and inclusive school community.

  • R — Responsibility: Teaching students to take ownership of their actions and choices, both academically and socially.

This year, we’ll be incorporating the "Game On" spirit throughout the building — from classrooms and assemblies to special events and family nights. We believe this theme will help create an engaging and supportive environment where every student can thrive.

Please welcome the following new staff to Jefferson:

  • Dean - Allen Furlong

  • Kindergarten - Taelor Hicken

  • 2nd Grade - Amanda Z-Aten

  • 5th Grade - Shyanne Waltemath

  • K-1st Grade Resource - Annie Armstrong

Literacy and Numeracy Focus Literacy and Numeracy Focus

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. ~ Nelson Mandela Last year, Jefferson had several opportunities to get books into the hands of our students. We had a Book Blast, Bingo for Books, Toys for Tots Book Giveaway, One Book One School and RSVP books. We are going to continue to focus on the importance of Literacy but now we are adding Numeracy.

What is Numeracy? The ability to understand and work with numbers. Numeracy is the ability to apply strategies with accuracy and efficiency. This is more than memorizing math facts. Stay tuned. . .

Jefferson Elementary Breakfast and Lunch Jefferson Elementary Breakfast and Lunch

Jefferson Elementary participates in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP). CEP schools provide free breakfast and lunch to schools. We are fortunate to provide this resource to families. If students bring their own lunch and want to buy a milk, they must bring $0.50. Some students want to have a second entrée, parents would have to provide funds for additional entrées.
