Family Fun at the Annual Society Meeting

We hope to see you all on May 5!

This year, we have 3 openings on our Board of Directors for the 2025–26 school year and 4 amazing applicants. To ensure every society member has an opportunity to vote, we are offering two options:

  1. Online Voting ballot– Now Open

Each nominee has submitted a short bio introducing themselves, sharing their experience at NCCS, and expressing why they feel called to serve. You can review their bios and cast your vote by clicking the link at the end of this email.

  2. In-Person Voting at the Society Meeting – Monday, May 5 at 6:00 PM

During the meeting, each candidate will have 2 minutes to speak. After all candidates have shared, that same online ballot will remain open for an additional 15 minutes to give attendees time to vote.

We’d also like to invite you to our Society Meeting & PTF Fellowship Night on Monday, May 5 at 6:00 PM in the gym. This fun, family-friendly event is hosted by the PTF and will include games, prizes, raffles, and ice cream for the whole family. After the festivities, we’ll introduce the Board candidates and give them a chance to speak. While votes are being tallied, we’ll hold our “2 G’s off your Fees” tuition giveaway (only open to 2024/2025 enrolled students) and we’ll announce the newly elected Board members at the end of the meeting.

Lastly, we want to express our deepest thanks to Dave Droz, who is stepping down after six faithful years on the Board. Dave has served through two terms, helped lead us through challenging seasons, and was instrumental in many of our recent construction projects. If you see him at the meeting, please take a moment to thank him personally!

Here is the link for the online ballot. You can vote for up to three people for the four positions The online ballot will close the evening of May 5.

Serve Day 2025

Love in Action: NCCS Students Serving the Community

On Friday, May 16, the whole school will participate in our 3rd all-school Serve Day, spending the morning doing various service projects. The elementary - and some secondary - will do projects on campus, and most of the secondary will go out into the community.

It takes a lot of support to do this well, so we are hopeful that parents are willing and able to be involved. To participate, please complete this NCCS Serve Day Volunteering form. I am sure you will enjoy it! (Please fill out the form even if "all" you can do is give some supplies for some of the on-campus projects, or do some easy grunt work before or after to help prep or complete some things.)

Please look for a follow-up permission form for the secondary students!

Emersyn Johnson

Emersyn is one of our long-time students, having been at NCCS for 13 years. In high school, she played volleyball for one year, and was a singer in Excelsior Choir all 4 years. Emersyn enjoyed being a TA for Mrs. Hilst this year as they share a love of literature; Emersyn also valued being able to share her creative writing with Mrs. Hilst. Over her years at the school, Emersyn appreciated becoming closer to staff members and forming life-long friendships. She currently has a job for which she works with dogs; she plans to begin working full-time and determining what direction to take from there. She would like to travel and continue working with animals. Emersyn's scripture is from Isaiah: "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar on high like eagles; they will run and not grow tired, they will walk and not become weary."

Kate Hankland

Kate was at North Clackamas Christian for junior high and high school. During high school, she sang with Excelsior choir, and she participated in volleyball, basketball, and track. Her favorite memories are the annual trips for both choir and the sports teams. Her best memories from senior year are the playoff trips - Redmond for volleyball and Baker for basketball, as well as spending time with friends. Kate will attend George Fox University to major in nursing. Along with working as a nurse, she would like to eventually start and raise a family. "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?", Micah 6:8, is one of Kate's favorite verses.

Madeline Hancox

Maddie came to NCCS in preschool, so attended for 14 years. Throughout high school, she has been involved in Excelsior choir, quintet, and worship team. Maddie has fond memories of sophomore year, and especially yearbook class. There was a small group during that class period and they shared some fun times. Playing music, hanging out, connecting with people are all reasons why the leadership retreat is a favorite memory from senior year. Maddie would love to have music be a major part of her life going forward. She'll start by serving at Eagle Fern Camp this summer, then travel with family, followed by - hopefully - a long-term missions trip. Whatever happens beyond that, Maddie says, "Ultimately, I want my long-term goal to be what God wants me to do, and I will stay patient by waiting to see where he leads me." Ephesians 5:19-20 ESV is her favorite scripture, because it talks about making music from your heart to the Lord, and she loves to worship the Lord, and sing out to him.

Rider Joiner

Rider came to North Clackamas Christian for his junior high and high school years. While in high school, he played golf for 2 years with the joint NCCS/Country Christian team, he played in the band, and he was a member of National Honor Society. Rider has a couple of memories from this year that have been meaningful: it was nice to have all the seniors together at senior sunrise; and playing air-soft with some of the guys helped with bonding as a friend group. Rider will soon be heading to Utah State University to major in History and minor in Anthropology, also receiving a Certificate of Museum Studies. He would really like to work as a curator for a military history museum. Rider's favorite verse is Proverbs 27:17: "As iron sharpens iron, one person sharpens another."

Kian Hankland

Kian attended NCCS for seven years. During high school, he was on the soccer, basketball, and track teams; he played in band and sang with Excelsior Choir and Quintet; and he participated in NHS, ASB, and worship team. A distinct NCCS memory is from Outdoor School when Johnny got a stick in his leg. A favorite senior year memory is drinking pre-game booch at home soccer games. Kian plans to work toward a career in Mechanical Engineering and will start that path at George Fox University. He says that he is eager to see where the Lord will lead his life, and he is hopeful that starting a family will be a part of that plan. Kian's verse is fitting for this view on his future: "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps," Proverbs 16:9.

Sophia Campbell

Sophia came to NCCS beginning in her junior year. She was a National Honor Society officer her senior year, and has danced for Allegro dance studio for several years. Sophia's favorite high school memories at NCCS are getting ready for dances with friends. From this year, she had fun hanging out with friends who were staying together in the Sheepfold room at the leadership retreat. Sophia will start her nursing degree program at George Fox University in the fall with the goal of becoming a pediatric or postpartum nurse. She would also like to eventually have a happy family. For a scripture to share, Sophia chose Ecclesiastes 3:11: "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

Vivienne Hodder

Vivienne came to North Clackamas Christian in 6th grade. Her primary high school activities centered around music: Excelsior Choir, girls' quintet, and worship team. Vivienne remembers her 10th grade year as her best year of high school; one reason was because of 7th period yearbook class. It was relaxed and fun. This past year, the leadership retreat was a great experience, with some unscheduled times to make music and stay up late exchanging messages with friends in the girls' room. Vivienne wants to pursue an education in the Fine Arts; she'll start by attending community college. She would love to travel, for studying fine arts as well as for missions - like Mrs. B. She selected Psalm 23 as a favorite scripture: it was her Grandpa's favorite verse and, in her words, "[Christ] will instill peace in whatever phase of life I'm in. Just like He did for my Grandpa."

Andrew Lee

Andrew came to NCCS his freshman year. He has played baseball, sung with Excelsior Choir, and been a member of the worship team. Andrew has a specific memory of attempting a front flip off of a table, but landing on his back in front of, in his words, "the whole school." A different kind of memory is his recent mission trip to Mexico with his youth group, including many NCCS students. Andrew would like to eventually pastor his own church. To move toward that goal, he will pursue a Masters of Divinity at Corban University, or serve as an intern at his church. He selected Ephesians 4:1 as his verse: “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,” ‭

Landon Bowker

Landon spent his entire school career at North Clackamas Christian. He played basketball and soccer in high school, and many of his best memories come from the good times during trips for away games. Landon enjoyed working on his senior project, saying that "it helped me develop my skills and gave me something to be proud of." Landon would like to work in the clothing industry and plans to attend the University of Oregon to study product design. He selected I Corinthians 10:31 as a favorite Bible verse: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

SCHOOL YEAR 2025-26 CALENDAR SCHOOL YEAR 2025-26 CALENDAR

Please take time to make note of all the dates for next school year as you plan your family vacations. It is of utmost importance for students to be present during school days. Much of what occurs in class can't be replicated upon return or the learning made up as it was intended, in the case of an absence. We hope you are able to schedule within the school calendar so that this can be avoided. Thank you for your partnership!
