Great Relationships Produce Great Students
Hello CBE Famlies!
We are gearing up for the 2026–27 school year! This newsletter contains a lot of important information and can feel a bit overwhelming, but we hope it serves as a helpful resource as you prepare your child for back-to-school at Carl Ben Eielson. We are excited to welcome our students and families back and look forward to the start of classes and activities for the new school year!
Over the past two weeks, you should have received emails from both the District and Carl Ben Eielson with information about registering your student in Infinite Campus. If you have not yet completed registration, please do so as soon as possible to ensure your child is ready for the first day of school.

*Acceptable proof of residency documents are one current mortgage document or lease agreement, or two other forms one being a utility bills (i.e. Xcel Energy, Cass County Electric, or City of Fargo, etc.) and one other form such as current insurance statement or current pay stub, etc.
Create Your Campus Parent Account and Update Your Student Information
Each year, returning families must complete an update to their student registration information. This annual registration update ensures we have accurate contact details, health records, and emergency contacts on file for students. The update, along with any school meal account and fee payments, must be completed before school begins each fall.
Fargo Public Schools has moved from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus for our student information system. You will need to create a new parent portal account in Campus Parent to access your child's information. Using a computer rather than a mobile device is recommended for registration. Returning families will also receive a direct email to set up an account; you may need to check your junk/spam folder in your email account for this email.
If students attended an FPS school last year, parents need to follow the returning family registration process, NOT the new family registration process.
Each guardian of a Fargo Public Schools student can create a Campus Parent account, but only one guardian should review and update information each school year.
If you have already completed this process, thank you! Nothing further is needed from you at this time.
What is a Campus Parent Account?
In addition to annual student information update forms, your Campus Parent account gives you access to your child's attendance records, along with access to your middle and high school child's daily assignments and current grades (these last two features are not available for elementary students).
Information for Returning Families
Returning District families need to set up a Campus Parent account. If students attended an FPS school last year, families need to follow the returning family registration process, NOT the new family registration process. Students who attended a Fargo Public School during the 2025-26 school year should be attached to the existing household.
If a returning family has a child who will be a new student to Fargo Public Schools in the 2026-27 school year, the new student can be added in Campus Parent using the “Add New Student” button.
If an enrolled student is missing from a parent list when logging in, please call the school for assistance. DO NOT re-register the child. The school would have to delete the forms and have you start over if you submit without all students listed.
IMPORTANT: All returning Fargo Public Schools families must verify family information and complete annual student information updates for the coming school year PRIOR TO their student(s) attending any orientation or back-to-school sessions in August. Middle and high school students will NOT receive their class schedule and/or school-issued laptop until online Infinite Campus annual student information update forms have been verified and updated for the 2026-27 school year.
Information regarding student health did not transition to Infinite Campus from PowerSchool. Parents will need to update their child’s health, medication and allergy information in Campus Parent.
Returning Families: How to Set Up a Campus Parent Account
Due to the transition from PowerSchool to Infinite Campus, you MUST set up an Infinite Campus account to access your student’s information in Campus Parent. If you have multiple children in Fargo Public Schools, you only need to do this once — even if you receive multiple emails. You will receive an email from FPS with a link to Infinite Campus and instructions on how to create your account.
Follow the instructions and the link in the email sent to you by Fargo Public Schools (you may need to check your spam/junk folder). Once your account is created and you are logged in, you will be prompted to review and complete forms for the upcoming school year.
New Families: How to Set up a Campus Parent Account
New families to Fargo Public Schools who need to register their child (including kindergarten) for school should start by visiting the Registration page on the Fargo Public Schools website. This page contains guidelines for registration, an interactive boundary map that will confirm your home address is within the Fargo Public School boundaries and list the elementary, middle, and high schools serving your address.
When you have reviewed this information and are ready to begin the registration process, go to https://fargond.infinitecampus.org/campus/OLRLoginKiosk/fargo and follow the prompts to complete registration.
Step-by-step instructions for registration for new families are available at this link.
School Pay
Families use School Pay to pay for school meals and fees. However, School Pay will not be available through Campus Parent as it used to be via PowerSchool. Due to this change, all families will need to establish a new School Pay account.
To create your parent account for SchoolPay: Go to schoolpay.com Click “Find my Account” Enter your email address (the email address you have stored on file with your child’s student record). If a matching email address is found, you will be led through a process to create your account. Once you have created your account, you can set up a credit card, make fee payments, and set up meal payments for your student(s). SchoolPay can be accessed at any time by going to https://schoolpay.com. PLEASE NOTE: SchoolPay is experiencing connection issues this week, and many parents have found that they can log into SchoolPay, but the webpage doesn’t completely load and they can’t see school fees to select and pay. SchoolPay has been alerted to this problem and is investigating. EMAIL COMPLICATION: SchoolPay has reported to Fargo Public Schools that they are having a problem sending emails to individuals with hotmail.com, outlook.com, msn.com, or live.com personal email addresses. Because of this, many of our parents trying to get connected to their SchoolPay account by going to schoolpay.com and clicking Find my Account are finding they are not receiving the necessary email from SchoolPay they need to set their password. SchoolPay apologizes for this issue. To ensure all parents have the opportunity to get connected to SchoolPay, they suggest that parents who try Find my Account and don’t receive an email call their support number, and a support technician can set a password for them. The SchoolPay support number is 833-731-2600. In their calling system, after selecting a language for the call, choose option 3 to Create an Account, and then option 2 to speak with a representative.

Student Information
BACKPACKS
Students will be allowed to use backpacks to carry books between school and home, but the backpack must be left in the student’s locker during the school day.
ID CARDS
Students will receive their ID card a couple weeks after school picture days. The card is coded with an identification number for each student. Displaying your ID at all times is not required. Students who purchased a high school season pass will receive an activity pass ID card to get into FPS high school sporting events. Replacement cost for an ID is $5 in the main office. ID cards will be used to pay for student meals/extras, check out books from the library, school parties, for school bus identification as a FPS student, and for season pass to FPS activities if purchased by parent/guardian. The student ID will display an “A” on the card if a $30 fee is paid. Activity pass cards will be available early to allow entrance into sporting events.
LOCKER LOCK
Each student will be provided with a padlock for his/her locker(s). These lockers are for individual use only and may not be shared with another student. Locks have individual combinations and should be kept confidential. If the padlock does not open or close properly, your child should bring it to the office for a replacement. The replacement charge for a lost padlock is $10. Students must use school locks.
CELL PHONES - Policy
Per FPS Administrative Policy 4263 Personal Electronic Communication Device Use, Students will not be permitted to use or access personal devices — such as cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, or personal tablets or computers — during the school day. Devices must be turned off or silenced and securely stored in lockers. This means, students are not allowed to carry their personal electronic device with them throughout the school day.
This policy supports a learning environment free from distractions and promotes student well-being, safety, and academic engagement. It reflects both the expectations of state law and the commitment of Fargo Public Schools to maintain a positive, focused school culture. The policy includes clearly defined enforcement steps and limited exemptions for medical or educational needs. Use before and after the school day and at certain extracurricular activities remains allowed.
Fargo Public School District is not responsible for lost or damaged student devices. All students are expected to keep their electronic devices in their lockers throughout the school day.
Please review the full policy and the FAQs included below for details on the policy, what is and isn’t allowed, and how enforcement will work.
Thank you for your leadership in helping students adjust to this change and for everything you do to support a positive school culture. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your building administrator or the District Office with any questions.

Regular attendance is an important piece of succeeding in school. Students are expected to be in their classes every day, except in the case of illness, school related activities, family emergency, or religious observance. It is the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their children are in school unless a valid reason for absence exists. The Attendance Office asks that a student’s absence be reported by 9:00 a.m. If a student is not accounted for they will be recorded as truant. Please review the attendance policies found in our on-line student handbook.

If your student is experiencing cold virus symptoms or seasonal allergies, please treat at home before coming to school. Per public health policy, we are unable to carry medications for these symptoms. Also, if your child has a temperature of 100 or above or has vomited in the last 24 hours, please keep your student home from school.
- Hours -typically 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Monday-Friday
- If you have questions call Nurse Cheri Koch at 446-1721.
Health Information needs to be completed online. Please remember that our school nurse needs permission to administer Ibuprofen, Tums, or Tylenol (Acetaminophen). If you wish this to be an option, please indicate this online.
Emergency Care Plan: If your student has a health issue that will require more than standard first aid care, a special form called the “Emergency Care Plan” will need to be completed by a parent/guardian and signed by the student’s Health Care Provider. These forms will be available at registration from the school nurse and are online as well.
Medication at School: Daily medication and OTC medications: A “Medication Administration” form must be completed by a parent/guardian and signed by the student’s Health Care Provider. Medications brought to school must be in their original containers.
Self-Administration Medications: If a student needs to carry a medication on them while at school a “Medication Self-Administration” form must be completed by a parent/guardian and signed by the student’s Health Care Provider. If a student needs an Asthma inhaler, make sure they have their inhaler with them. The “Medication Self-Administration” form should be brought to school as soon as possible.
Medication forms also need to be renewed each school year. The school nurse will be available at registration and all appropriate paperwork can be obtained at that time. If your student will be seeing their physician prior to registration, all required forms are also available on the Carl Ben Eielson website under “Registration - Medication Forms” or at this link .
IMMUNIZATION REMINDER
Every student entering grade 7 is REQUIRED to receive a Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine and Meningococcal vaccine. To receive optimum disease coverage and ensure school requirements are met before entering grade 7, it is recommended that your student receive these two vaccinations once they turn 11. All students in 7th and 8th grade should have one dose of Tdap and Meningococcal recorded on their immunization record before the start of the school year. Please bring a copy of the updated immunization record to the school.
You can reach the nurse at 701-446-1721 or by email: cbmnurse@fargo.k12.nd.us.
Entrance to the Building During School Hours
Fargo Public Schools use a visitor management system in all of our schools to strengthen our program of campus safety for students and staff. Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and this system will allow us to do so. This system will allow us to better screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools to provide us with a safe environment for our students and staff.
Upon entering the school building, visitors will be asked to present an ID, such as a Driver’s License, which can either be scanned or manually entered into the system. If a parent or guardian for any reason does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into the system. Once entry into the building is approved, the system will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of their visit. A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork.
